somewhat opaque dark brown with light brown foam head. Aroma is bit smokey, which is strange for a German alt. Taste is quite sharp, hay, little woody. (Velp 201311)

Bottled (from bierzwerg.de). Reddish amber colour with mediumsized off-white fluffy head. Aroma is wood, fruits, some slight herbal tones as well as a bit earthcellary notes. Flavour sweet malts, some earthyness as well as wooden notes. Also some rather sweet raisiny/figgylike notes.

Bottle. Ruby red/dark brown colout with moderate, slightly off white head. Aroma is sweet, figgy? and bready. Flavour is nutty, malty, toasted. Moderate carbonation and smooth with a medium mouthfeel, perhaps a bit thin at the end. Really late bitter aftertaste. Good altbier.
