Maibock is a recent development. For centuries German breweries have made bock beers, which are strong, dark beers with great smoothness and depth of flavor. Maibock was first brewed as a special seasonal beer, to celebrate the arrival of spring. Using their new ability to make light-colored beers, the brewmasters of Bavaria created a blond counterpart to the original Bock. Our version is made to the standards of the German purity law, and fermented using an authentic Bavarian strain of lager yeast
