An imperial stout — a classic style so rich and flavorful that it was once the private beverage of Russian Czars. The profile is malty sweet, hop bitter roasted, full-bodied, alcoholic and deliciously complex. Beer doesn’t get much more intense than this! Alcohol: 8.5% by volume Malt Variety: 2-row Pale, Crystal Malts, Chocolate, Black, Roasted Barley Oats, Brown Sugar, Molasses Bitterness (IBU): 60

A brownish-black colored beer with a big frothy textured , light tan head rising above. There's some hang time to the head. It settles into a moderate ringlet. Roasted malt and chocolate in the nose. More of the same in the tasting I got some funkiness in the tasting. Light, nearly watery body.

Pours pitch black with a 2 inch milk chocolate colored head that fades to a small cap. Nice ring lacing on the drink down. Smells of roasted malt, and booze. Taste lop sided to the booze nothing else really comes out except some faint malts. kinda disappointed in this one, i had it several months ago (forgot to review it of course) but i remember it being better than this.

Almost black with brownish thick foam head, staying all the way until glass is empty. Chocolate taste, slightly bitter and smooth in mouth. (Houston 201205)

Sampled on draft at BJs in Norman. Pours opaque black-brown with a creamy tan head and remarkable lacing. Coffee-mocha aroma. Slightly bitter, rich malt flavor with roasted malt dominating the flavor. A tough of caramel. Full-bodied and warming. Worth trying.

pretty good roasted flavors, more malty than hoppy, but NO WAY i'd beleive this was an imperial stout unless i saw it for myself. body is too thin and flavor isn't big enough. not bad, just weak. too bad...AWESOME name!

The best of the beers I sampled at BJ's. Black colored with a nice thick tanish head. Roasted dark chocolate flavor with toasty malts and a touch of coffee. Creamy and pretty well balanced. Finishes with some bitter hops. Some alcohol shows late. A very good beer!

Easily a beer that you can pass while at BJ's. I know that I won't be ordering it again. An aroma of coffee and roasted malts, with a subtle acridness to it. Appearance was filtered, dark brown to light black. Water-like consistency to it. Flavor had too much alcohol present and not enough sweetness to counter it. Coffee and roasted malts dominate the flavor with the alchol present...it just wasn't enjoyable at all. Next?

A lackluster brew. I was very interested in a Stout at this brewpub was greatly disappointed. Taste left a lot to be desired but it did have a nice color with adequate head. I recommend some of their other brews.

Why do these guys have to serve all their beers ice cold and in frosted glasses? Had to wait 10 minutes to drink this thing. Decent malted aroma. Thin palate. Decent flavor. Best one I've tried so far.
