Birra Moretti La Rossa is a double boch beer produced using high quality 100% malted barley, giving it a rich sweet taste and an intense fragrance of roasted malt. The amber colour that characterizes the beer, comes from kind of malt used in the recipe (malt is dried, roasted barley). Another key ingredients is hops, the variety used is particularly aromatic, giving a characteristic bitter aftertaste and a delicate fragrance to the beer. The Master Brewers advise a service temperature between 10deg and 12deg C

pours a dark brown color with little head, aroma are intense caramel malts not hiding the booze; taste is mostly caramel malts, with low-medium bitterness, silk and mild dryness with bitter aftertaste that lingers a bit.

Italian dopplebocks are quite rare, and this one isn’t that bad. A reddish brown pour with beige coloured head. The aroma is very malty with notes of sweet dark fruit, some rasted malt, nuts, and caramel. The beer has a malty sweetness to it that isn’t overpowering, yet at the same time has a dry nuttiness to it as well.

Massive foamy head and and very strong malt aroma.very dark red in color. This was my second beer and the first was very bitter. So I didn't get any bitterness from this beer. It does have very light hint of sweetness. And the flavor is of rich solid malt.

@ Rafagino Burke VA. Pours copper, big tan head. Sweet malt aroma, bready. Mouthfeel is smooth and sweet. Flavor is big and malty with a bit of caramel.

Thought I would give this a higher rating, but after summing everything up, I am noticing this beer should probably deserve a slightly higher rating than what shows. The aroma and appearance weigh it down a bit. Flavor could almost be an 8, but not quite (7.5 if half ratings). Worth the $8 a 6-pack for 7.2%. Not rushing out to buy more, but glad I sampled what I did. Would be decent restaurant beer.

Pours mahogany brown with a 3 finger head that all but disappears in just about 3 seconds. This stuff pours and looks like maple syrup. Not that cheap crap that you see on the table at IHOP. This is the good stuff. Yeah baby. The AAA good stuff. Now I smell the sweet malt. And the taste is sweet and malty too. Lots of grain and sugar. It's almost overwhelming or cloying. Finish is sweet. This is a terrific desert beer. Just by itself.

This was a great beer. The appearance was heady and ruby red in the light. The aroma did not pop out but a slight hop jumped out before hitting the tongue. A little malt and hop and clean finish. So the Italians can make a beer.

Saw this one on the list and couldn't help myself... always in a for a Dopplebock. Sweet caramel abounds. A nice malitness with a rich mouthfeel and nice lingering finish.
