June 2015: 750 ml bottle, as Birra del Borgo Genziana con radici, from Vinmonopolet. BB date March 2015. ABV is 6.1%. Clear deep golden colour, moderate white head. Strong sweetish malty and herbal / vegetable aroma. The flavour is also quite sugary sweet, notes of malts, caramel, herbs and vegetables (the radishes, I assume). Low bitterness. Not really my cup of tea. Drank it moderately chilled - might be more refreshing ice cold.

First of the expensive Italian beers found at Khoury's in Henderson, NV. Gentain? First impression makes me wish that I had access to this in Edmonton.
Poured out a bright hazy gold brew with an ok amount of white foam, leaves lots of ropy lacing and has good retention as a skim. The aroma is great with a unique sweet fruity punch, very floral and herbal. Tangerines, unsweetened berries, wet grass and an unknown herbal aroma that is new to me. Good taste as well, very balanced with all these flavours: some sort of orange, berry, weakest of pepper (maybe), grass, flowers of some sort and the mystery flavour. Medium bodied, smooth throughout even with the fine, sometimes biting carbonation. Finishes with a bit of bitterness and more orangy fruit. This was a very good beer. Would be great on a hot day. -

Bottle at tasting at Chris Fischer’s (from Liars Club) house. Pours with a cloudy gold body topped by a thin head with some lacing. It’s slightly sweet wtih notes of honey and a slight grassy sourness. Light bodied, smooth and a touch dry.

Pours out in a hazy golden colour with a small short-lived bubbly white foam. Very fruity aroma of orange-blossom, tangerine, tart red berries, leaves and herbs. Medium-bodied with clear flavours of grass, lemon, Seville oranges, flowers, honey and herbs. Short but really fresh aftertaste of flowers, mild herbs and mandarin. A refreshing and rather unique beer.
