Clear dark ruby, tanned lacing foam head. Fruity aroma, but less so in taste. Amber beer like with pear nnotes. Nice beer and first of the BINK series. (Velp 201606)

scores for this all over the place. #2200 started out a fairly average yeasty belgian ale for me, but as it opened up, the honey came out more, and the pear became noticeable in the aroma and flavor, which is why i bought it. no aspect quite an 8, but high 7's...a little pricey for a "good" beer thouhgh.

S6L4F2TO: Attention-grabbing name and label 11.2 oz. Appears thick and sticky in the glass, iced tea tint. Tangs volatility strong and it is at 7%. It builds to a sweet, nearly sickening, bouquet. Creamy, fine looking foam ring floating around the inside annulus. No head, per se, but it does have a tea froth skin. Some pear fragrance starts to push thru. Taste is strapping and alky like, syrupy at times. Not what I was expecting with all that pink and b-stuff on the label. Why did I ever think this was gonna be a fruit lambic? I think some gunk from the bottom of the bottle swirled into the last drops in my tumbler. Peculiar carbonation, wants to be audacious but stays laid back. First creamy, then flat on the palate. Near the end of the session, the pear perfume begins to engulf. Goes down reasonably easy without retch reflex. Finish is medicinal in temperament. Doesn’t stand a chance against orval. Go figger.

Hazel brown color, nice floral smell (maybe some suggestion from the bottle)... I taste a lot of fermentation going on in there, its mostly dry, a little sour, something like cranberries. Also pleasantries of dry bark, earthworms, and yes flowers... a crafty beer

This Belgian Ale pours a deep reddish copper color from a 33cl bottle. Medium sized beige foamy head, with nice lacing. Aroma is fruity and sweet, touch of pear. A medium bodied Belgian ale. The mats are fruity and sweet, with a touch of honey. The hops are kind of earthy and floral. Nice balance. Mostly fruit flavors, but there is a touch of chocolate, sort of at the back of the taste. There is a touch of an alcohol bite at the finish. Very easy drinking Belgian. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is crisp and a touch dry. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Poured a dark redish color with good head and good lacing. Aroma was mostly caramel. Flavor was caramel little roastedness and grass?? and spices. After taking the bartenders suggestion with this one and his description, i couldn't find the light fruits that were he said were in there.

Hazy reddish brown colour, not much head. Aroma is sour fruit and slight roasted malts. Flavour is hops, malts and quite earthy. Some strange sweetness also present. Not too pleasant, but managed to hide the alcohol well.

Clear honey-amber body. The aroma has a slightly spicy yeastiness along with a fair bit of honey. There’s a vague fruitiness, but I’m not really getting the pears I’d expected after reading the label.

Mixed feelings about this one. Poured initially much darker than I thought, deep red-brownish with a generous head that laced quite well. The aroma was of significant caramel and some light spicing, not at all what I was expecting with a label that read pears and honey. The flavor started out a bit bitter with some caramel, grass, and perhaps molasses as noted below by heemer. The flavor improved with temperature, some balanced sweetness with pears and light floral notes. Spices were clearly present. Somewhat of a combined acidic and dry mouthfeel, which wasn't expected. A decent brew, but not at these prices.
