Big Sky Kriek Ale is a unique creation that defines its own style. We start with a Belgian Style Golden Ale and then add a gererous amount of organic cherries from The Orchard at Flathead Lake. It is then aged with another addition of cherries for a minimum of 3 months in French oak wine barrels. Temperature controlled bottle conditioning provides a nice balanced finish. So kick off your hard soles and relax next to a Big Sky Creek...er, Kriek.

    Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7

This fruit beer pours a medium reddish orange color from a 750ml bottle. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity, sweet and cherry. A medium bodied fruit beer. The malts are fruity and sweet, cherry and ever so slightly tart. The hops are herbal and earthy. SMALL RANT. Brewers please do not call a cheery/cranberry/fruit beer a Kreik/Lambic when its NOT. Unless it a tart, funky beer please don’t call it a Kriek. I am taking point away from you for this please STOP. Back to the rating. OK its more a slightly tart fruit beer than a kriek, but its tarter and funkier than a fruit beer. Decent cheery flavors. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly tart.
