ISG is the granddaddy of our Rye Guy IPA. More grain! More hops! The result is an incredibly flavourful, yet balanced Imperial IPA. There is a big malt flavour up front which presents in the form of rich caramel and serves to balance the high bitterness of a beer weighing in at 90 IBUs. The result is a nice, lingering, spicy taste on the tongue. And at 9.1% ABV, this is definitely going to make you super!

Amber colour with golden highlights. Getting hazier by pour. The creamy, frothy head is warm light-beige with great retention, leaving some creamy lacing. Caramel aromas with some mild banana wheat notes and spicy notes. I kind of get a diacetyl feel from the nose and even in the taste. Not really what I was expecting from this one. The hops are good in flavours helping away this popcorn feel that I am no longer liking in beers. They create a nice bitterness with its grassiness, and a dryness that lingers. Not bad, but not what I was expecting, as wish more spiciness from the rye and less buttering.

Purchased a mini growler at this new microbrewery in Ottawa. Pours a deep amber colour with a thinly veiled bubbly head that goes away pretty quickly. Some mango and cirtusy aromas. Good blend of malts and hops. Huge bitter hoppy flavours, but immediately falls flat. A hint of grapefruit as well. Tarty mouthfeel. Weak lacing. Not too bad, but the flavours are deceiving at first. For a 9.1%abv, can't really tell which is pretty nice.
