In fairness to the beer, a rainy January day isn't ideal hefeweizen weather. Not sure that it would have mattered, because this isn't an ordinary hefe. It looks OK for beer, but too clear for hefe. It tastes decent, but doesn't have that banana/clove yeasty flavor. It's not bad for a thirst quencher but it's a terrible example of a hefeweizen. Bert Grant has a very good reputation but needs to correctly label this brew. It's a wheat, not a hefe, and there is a big difference.

Orange gold color. Small white foamy head. Aroma is citrusy and sweet with touches of wheat and yeast. A light to medium bodied American Wheat. Malts are fruity and citrusy. Hops are grapefruity and citrusy. Kind of hoppy for a wheat beer. Carbonation is lively and crisp. Light and refreshing, crisp and fruity. A nice Hefeweizen/American Wheat. A little off style, but very drinkable. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is crisp and dry. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

A nice light flavor. I sometimes ask to sneak a drink when my girlfriend orders it at a bar.

The beer had a strong aroma of yeast. It was a little bit on the dry side. It wasn't a bad beer but it was kind of bland. I don't think its on par with some of this brewers other products.

Nice aroma (from a generous helping of Cascade hops), typical golden color with that cloudiness associated with wheat beers. Nice rich medium mouthfeel, and a clean crisp and refreshing taste that is the hallmark of wheats. I feel this beer can stand up to any of the foreign imports. I liked it.

Not as sweet as some of the other wheats I have tried. But it is not a bad flavor.
