A dark rich creamy ale. This is our version of this classic stout style. With its dense black color and velvety texture, our stout's flavor hints of chocolate liquorice and coffee. This ale is truly a meal in a glass.

Cask@GBBF2010. Quite much pitch black colour, small brown head. Aroma is fruits, some roasted malts, mild tobacco as well as liquorice and caramel malty notes. Flavour is chocolate, coffee, dark dry fruits, some liquorice, mild tobacco and some slight notes of sweet malts and mild vanilla.

Bottle: Poured a medium black color stout with a medium light brown color head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light roasted malt with some black chocolate notes. Taste is also dominated by some slightly bitter roasted malt with some notes of black chocolate. Body is definitely too thin for the style with some good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Not bad overall even though body is watery and too thin for the style.

Pours near black with a thin and dying tan head. Aroma is strong chocolate, dark roasted coffee, figs, molasses, and anise. Sweet milk chocolate, molasses, and espresso coat the palate before turning to burnt chocolate and dark roast coffee. A very welcomed rush of bitterness balances out the chocolaty sweetness, before finishing out with a great roasty, spicy (anise and licorice), and grassy aftertaste. Great Imperial Stout, great brewery.

Pours a dark black with a good head. The aroma is anise and chocolate with a bit of alcohol. The flavor comes across as thin and a little metallic. Not back, but needs a little more fullness in the malt.

Poured a hark mahogany color with a small, tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, and some nuts. Taste of more chocolate and roasted malts, some lactose, and light dried fruits. Creamy mouthfeel.

Pours with an opaque black body topped by a thin tan head leaving a little lace. Strong malt aroma with coffee/chocolate accents and a touch of alcohol. Slightly sweet malt flavor with a touch of alcohol and coffee with a roasted coffee finish. Full bodied and warming with a tingling sensation on the tongue.
