This beer is the first in Bell's Wheat Project. Project comprises five new ales, four in series and one specialty strong product. The first four, Wheat 2, Wheat 4, Wheat 6 and Wheat eight are all made using 55% Wheat (either wholly or mostly malted) and 45% Barley malt. The barley malt makeup is exactly the same in each of the four and consists of three different malts. The total amount of grain in each of the four is also exactly the same, so each of them should have a virtually identical original gravity. The type and amount of hops in each of the four is exactly the same. And the processing through the brewhouse and fermentation is also exactly the same. The changing factors between the ales are the composition of the 55% of wheat used and the type and number of yeast strains used. In Wheat 2 the 55% of wheat is made up of two different kinds of wheat malt, and this ale is made with two different yeasts. Wheat Two Wheats: White, Dark Yeast: Bell’s house ale strain, WLP410 Belgian Wit II.

Pours a semi hazey golden colour, small but noticeable white head. Aroma is slightly fruity, Sweet aroma with rich fruit character. Peach, red delicious apples, and cotton candy. Taste is smooth, light and fruit filled.

Nice wheat produced here. Good yeasty aroma reminiscent of a hefeweizen touches of banana and spices. Pours a cloudy golden yellow, slim white head was a let down but decent lacing is present. Smooth full satisfying mouthfeel, finish is a little detracting. Flavor is very solid and enjoyable. Heavy wheat presence, lightly hopped. This american wheat is very close to a classic german hefe in many aspects. Solid effort.

Cloudy gold with a moderate, but well-lasting head. The aroma is citrusy (but not the hoppy citrus), and a strong wheat aroma. The flavor is breadcrusts and orange juice. Slight tartness in the end. The finish is a bit more bitter that the rest of the beer wants. Detracts a little from the rest of the beer.

This wheat beer pours a orange gold color from a 12 oz bottle. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is orange, citrus, grainy and sweet, lots of fruit esters. A medium to full bodied wheat beer. Malts are fruity and estery. Bright yeasts and grainy wheats make for an interesting beer. A touch citrusy. Smooth taste. Very reminiscent of a Wit beer. Interesting. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. Thanks to John C for sharing.

Split this with tjthresh, after hauling it back from Madison, WI. More of a wit than a typical American style wheat. Phenolic, spicy, grassy, wheat citric-esque tang, fluffy head and hazy light yellow. Quite nice, I'd like to see the rest of the series.

I enjoyed a bottle of this supplied DrewSLU at a big ol drunken throwdown in St Louis. The beer was served in a standard American pint glass. Hazy golden, straw in color, with a white froathy head. Some visable carbonation. The aroma was very belgian. Grassy, citrus, barnyard, and Juicy Fruit notes. Lots of Belgian phenolic spiciness. Kind of a grassy, straws, minty flavor. Fully bodied. It rolls over the tongue nicely.

Thanks to my friend JCW for this beer. It pours an opaque golden color, well it look pretty much like honey with a small head. The aroma has a lot of bubble gum in it. Sligthtly sweet with a tangy finish. This is a nice wheat

The body is medium orange and cloudy. A thin white head sits on top. The aroma is surprising with peaches and some light clove. There is also some floral quality. The taste is spicy with plenty of coriander and some lime peels. Surprisingly hoppy for an American wheat. The mouthfeel is plenty carbonated. Thanks for the bottle, Weep.
