Double Cream Stout derives its name from its smooth, creamy texture, not the ingredients. Completely dairy-free, this stout blends ten different specialty malts to yield a remarkable depth of flavor. With only a touch of burnt notes, Double Cream Stout focuses on the softer, cocoa & espresso-like aspects of roasted malt.

Picked up a case of this at the beeryard where I live. I must say a very delicious stout. Not as creamy as I'd thought it'd be but all in all a very special stout.

Pours very dark brown almost black with a faint white head. The aroma smells like it going to be hoppy. The mouthfeel is good and thick. Thank goodness it's not hoppy but it is slightly bitter. I can taste and feel the cream on my tongue. Has just a slight resemblance to a milk stout.

A little disappointed with the appearance. Dark brown pour, head didn’t last and no lace. Strong roasted malt aroma. Flavour the same. Also dark chocolate, cocoa, espresso and smokey. Has an acidic taste and not as sweet as I would expect a cream stout to be. Medium mouthfeel. Not bad but happy my next one will be Expedition Stout

Pitch black pour with a silky brown head. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Aroma and taste of roasted malts, coffee, molasses and chocolate with a touch of smoke.

Very dry, very deep. Flavors of molasses or what really tastes like a hot dusty asphalt road with molasses poured all over it. Something hinting of creosote but not that stuff you coat fenceposts with more like that aroma you get just before it rains in New Mexico.

Pours a jet black with a nice sized brown head that dissapates slowly. Aroma is of roasted coffee and malts. Flavor is heavily roasted with a nice bite at the end. Finished off dry. Overall actually quite good. One of the blackest beers i have ever had.

Strong aroma is quite smoky with notes of burnt coffee and caramel and a hint of licorice. It pours a luscious opaque sable with a fairly thick and fine-bubbled, if not too persistent, head. Mouth-filling flavor has burnt coffee, semi-sweet chocolate and licorice notes with a hint of caramel. Smooth, firm-bodied texture has a fair amount of fizz and leaves a smoky, tingly finish. I had this before on tap, and as good as it is in a bottle, as with most beers it is better from a keg or barrel.

Thick oily pour with a creamy tan head, lots of roast and impy smells on the nose. Taste is super smooth, light roast, some sweetness and hints of molasses and licorice. Not overdone in any area, very easy to drink, great for a cold night.

Somebody brought me 6 of these for Christmas a couple of years ago, and they really shouldn't have been so cheap and brought me a whole 2-4. A very dark brown pour with a medium sized light brown creamy head. Aroma consisted of roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate. The flavour is molasses, roasted coffee, and chocolate. Great beer.

Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where the heck is the ceiling.

Very nice dark brown, almost black color with some faint ruby highlights around the sides and edges. A nice, full, creamy, fluffy, smooth khaki colored head with very nice retention and real nice lacing. A nice malty tone in the aroma. Some roasty aspects. A bit of coffee. A bit of chocolate. Neither aroma is very robust. Might be picking up a bit of raisin and a small note of the oatmeal and/or cream. Seems to be balanced pretty well though. The taste had a lot of the proper characteristics of a Stout. Some roasted coffee and chocolate, but like the smell, not real pronounced or robust. A minor hint of bitterness and maybe even a hint of some dark or burnt grain. Medium mouthfeel. Rather smooth and mostly creamy. Did a nice job of leaving flavor on the palate. Mostly dry, but not too dry. I've had better, more robust, complex Stouts, but this one is solid enough to be considered a good example. Very easy to drink and worth a shot if you see it. Nothing over complicated. More than anything a no-nonsence, pretty enjoyable Stout.
