Boghopper is a hoppy and hazy golden-chestnut-coloured wheat beer, made truly local with an addition of hand-harvested sweet gale (bog myrtle). This dark hopfenweiss was continuously hopped throughout the boil with a blend of American and Continental hops. Big banana aromas meld with juicy, fruity hops, and a clove + earthy spiciness mid-palate. History & Style: For Vankleek Hill Oktoberfest 2014 the Beau’s brewers split up into teams, charged with creating the best recipe for this year’s fest. Team "Blind Faith" (Matt Tweedy, Jeff McCauley, Adam Wilson, Bruce Kearney) has blazed new trails with what they are calling a dunkelhopfenweiss: an experimental hybrid of dunkel weissbier and herbed beer with elevated hop presence. Tasting Notes: Boghopper offers up exciting aromas of banana, red licorice and nutmeg. The body is light. Initial fruity notes are followed by assertive waves of herbal tannins. Hop flavour is dominant, the finish is dry and woodsy. Food Pairings: Duck a l’orange, rillettes Technical Specs * Alc./Vol.: 6.3% * Ingredients: Local Spring Water, Organic Barley Malts, Organic Hops, Brewer’s Yeast. * Malts: Pilsner, Munich, Carafa, Carafoam (All Organic) * Hops: Organic Perle * IBU's: 50 * OG: 15.6°P * FG: 4.2°P * Ideal Serving Temp.: 4-7°C

Part of their Oktoberfest 2015 4-pack. Pours a clean darker amber colour with a creamy-bubbly beige head, good retention and some creamy lacing. Fruity (red apples), dark malt aromas with some light caramel, hints of wood and some mild grassy notes. This hops shows up in the start of the taste to finish with caramel and fruity malts. A little nutty, some spices and well-blended bitterness. A tad dryness making this one a refreshing bold Dunkelhopfenweiss brew.

Pours a good size frothy off-white head and has a slightly hazy, pale amber appearance. Leaves some thick dirty lacing. Aromas are quite malty with earthy and herbal hops. Flavours are earthy hops, wheats a bit of grains. Hints of toffee and sweet malts. Silky and slightly oily sensation on the palate.

The beer pours a dark chestnut brown with a 1" creamy tan coloured head. The aroma is roasted malt, brown sugar, citrusy notes, and yeast. The mouthfeel is medium, to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is sweet roasted malt, caramel, herbal hops, and some lingering yeasty flavours. Nice,
