The third installment in our Wild Oats Series is an amped up version of our spring Seasonal, Beaver•River I.P.Eh?. This monster weighs in at 8.0% and 60 IBUs. Screaming Beaver has been dry hopped and aged with oak. Even scarier than the stats, this beer is incredibly drinkable and nicely balanced. Be very afraid. Note: 2011 Version is 8% and 60 IBU 2013 Version is 9.9% and 99 IBU

Pours a large foamy beige head and has an amber/coppery clean appearance. Thick patchy lacing. Aromas of light roasted malts, grains, herbal and earthy hops, mild spices. Flavours of caramel and roasted malts, yeasty and slightly sweet. Almost 10%abv, couldn't really tell. Almost non-existant, very nicely hidden. Mild warming sensation. Medium bodied. At 99 ibu's, not very bitter at all. Not too bad.

The beer pours a hazed dark copper colour with a generous light tan head that lasts. Aroma is grains, weak citrus hints, wood, and fruits. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is weak grapefruity hops, burnt wood, caramel, and grass. -

Part of their "Best of Beau's" 4-pack for 2012. Nice to try one of the early Wild Oats Series (No. 3) and with a 9.9% ABV. this time. Pours a clean copper colour with a beige head, decent retention and dirty lacing. Interesting hoppy nose with warm caramel malt and alcohol. Hints of tropical fruits and nuts even. No burning at all in the mouthfeel (is this really a 10% ABV. brew ??). Goes down too smoothly... ha, ha. Nice warming taste of grapefruits, caramel, with notes of nuts, wood and hop dryness. This is quite good for a cold winter and the 99 IBUs balance things very well.
