Rachel’s Revenge is a fall seasonal offering from Beau’s. Not heard of Kveik? It is a farmhouse-style ale with a rich and long history in its homeland of Norway. Expect tropical fruit aromas, balanced flavour, and a delectably dry finish that, we think our own Rachel would agree, insists on another sip. History and Style: Kveik (the yeast the beer style is named for) has a rare ability to be dried and stored between brews, which has allowed some strains to be passed down from generation to generation in Norway. Only recently have commercial yeast labs cultured and made this literal taste of brewing history available to adventurous craft brewers fascinated by its legend and unique attributes. Tasting Notes: Rachel’s Revenge presents aromas of fresh pineapple, mango and tangerine. The tropical flavours are accented with notes of milky caramel and wildflower honey.

Can that pours a golden colour with lots of different sized transparent particles. The head is quite big, frothy, even creamy, white with long retention and leaving traces of creamy lacing. Fruity, mild yeasty aromas with notes of oranges, lemon zest. The taste is mild enough with a quick exit. Light dryness is left. Again, some oranges, but not much else. I guess an easy-drinking, refreshing ale.
