Farm Table Series are sessionable beers inspired by tradition and brewed true to a classic style. Farm Table: Grisette is a sessionable 4.9% – expect mild saison character and great drinkability from this golden ale. History & Style Grisette is a French farmhouse ale that historically was consumed by the thirsty working class. The French triskel and strisselspalt hops used are a nod to the style, and are typical in Belgian-style ales. Tasting Notes Pours gold with a frothy white head. Light-bodied, the flavour flows from light peppery notes to refreshing grassy and herbal hop elements. The finish is brisk and “moreish” (suggestive of another sip!) Food Pairings Cassoulet; herb & bread stuffed chicken with pan gravy; duck-fat-roasted potatoes; La Sauvagine or Riopelle cheeses. Pours a hazy light-golden with a foamy white cap, good retention and some soapy lace. The aromas remind me of pilsner, but they just did a pils from this series. Very grainy with some grassy hops. Hints of Belgian Ale yeast do appear a little. The taste is a little more Belgian with the yeast and some mild spices. All around citrus as well. Decent lighter alcohol Belgian-style ale and better than the pils they did. Not something I would buy again though.

Pours a big frothy white head and has a hazy golden orangey appearance. Thick dirty lacing. Aromas of yeast, citrus and floral hop notes and hints of spice. Flavours are mostly grassy and piney hops, some citrusy notes and Belgian yeast are quite apparent as well. Has a slight drying mouthfeel, a little bit of tarty hints on the palate. Pretty good.

The beer pours a hazed golden orange colour with a thin snow white ring for a cap. The aroma is yeast, grains, and spices. No citrusy notes in the aroma. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is grainy malt, earthy hops, some peppery spice notes, and yeast.
