Cask conditioned at the Ipswich Beer Festival 2004. Deep copper coloured. Roasted malts, fruit and chocolate. Flavourwise if fits in the gap between a premium bitter and a porter, proving that "styles" are not an accurate science. Good beer.

Clear dark brown appearance. Vague dusty coffee aroma. Cocoa powder and rasted malt in the flavour. Salt and resin in the short but dry finish. Thin body.

Cask aty the Pig and Fiddle, Bath. As a bitter it does a reasonable impression of a porter, very good non the less. Dark brown coloured with a creamy off-white head. Roasted malts are the domonant flavour, also fruity and chocolate in there. Dry finish and medium bodied.
