Cask; Regular. Rich in fruit with hints of chocolate, this full-bodied dark ale derives its' character from deeply roasted malts. It is a complex but very satisfying beer. Ingredients: Maris Otter pale malt (88%), crystal malt (10%), wheat malt (2%). Bramling Cross bittering hops, Golding aroma hops.

Cask conditioned at the Ipswich Beer Festival 2004. Deep copper coloured. Roasted malts, fruit and chocolate. Flavourwise if fits in the gap between a premium bitter and a porter, proving that "styles" are not an accurate science. Good beer.

    Cask@GBBF2008. Amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is red berries along with some dark fruits. Flavour is dark fruits, some red berries and mild spicyness.

    Clear dark brown appearance. Vague dusty coffee aroma. Cocoa powder and rasted malt in the flavour. Salt and resin in the short but dry finish. Thin body.

    Cask aty the Pig and Fiddle, Bath. As a bitter it does a reasonable impression of a porter, very good non the less. Dark brown coloured with a creamy off-white head. Roasted malts are the domonant flavour, also fruity and chocolate in there. Dry finish and medium bodied.
