Crafted by brewer Alex Nichols using the finest ingredients, this full-bodied dark beer has notes of chocolate and coffee, a velvety texture and finishes with subtle oyster undertones. One thousand whole Green Gables Malpeque Oysters from New London Bay, Prince Edward Island were added to the brew (shells and all!), creating a unique and flavourful stout. With 4% ABV and an IBU of 25, this is an eminently drinkable stout and will be an ideal drink of choice as fall and winter approach. Released in collaboration with The Céilí Cottage

On tap at Pub Italia. Pours a dark brown colour with a creamy mocha head, average retention and thick creamy lacing all around. Big coffee nose with roasted malts. Malty aromas overall with hints of nuts. Smooth wet mouthfeel, wishing it was a little creamier, but still nice. Lightly sweet taste with caramel over the roasted malts. Not really salty as expected from the oysters. The finish gets dryer with time. Wish it had more punch overall, but a decent session darker brew all around. Where is the oysters' saltiness ?

The beer poured a solid black colour with a thin light brown head that lasted. The aroma was roasted malt, chocolate, and a hint of coffee. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was roasted malt, with chocolate, and a salty rubber tone. Not something I would try again
