Our Pineapple Sculpin IPA came from one of many small-batch cask experiments to enhance the flavor of our signature IPA. With so many tropical hop notes in Sculpin, how could we not try adding some sweet, juicy pineapple? The combination of fruity flavors and hop intensity definitely packs a punch.

355 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7.0%. Deep golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of pineapple and fruity hops, some pine too. The flavour has also notes of pineapple, but this is still a well hopped IPA, and not pure pineapple juice. Very drinkable.

Pours clear amber with a luscious and persistent eggshell head. Sweet pineapple dominates the flavor, but gladly shares the olfactory stage with resiny hops and fresh malt. Flavor presents resiny hoppy, pineapple and malty notes, with pineapple sweetness balancing the hoppy bitterness. Texture is - meh, but leaves a nice woody hop and pineapple finish. I love pineapple, and I approve of this rating.

Part of a pick your own 6 pack at the a local grocery store. Pours a clear pale amber color with a foamy white head the leaves some impressive lacing. Pineapple, citrus and sweet malt aromas. Pineapple leads the flavors, but is very subtle, followed by lemon and faint hops (it might be old, no date on bottle). Drying, mildly bitter finish. An interesting take on an American IPA. Certainly worth trying.

I love Ballast Point and I loved this Sculpin iteration - keep them coming! This beer is prominently pineapple on the nose but it is very subtle on the palate. The pineapple is noticeable but not to the point of making the beer obnoxiously sweet. Fantastic beer - kudos!

12 oz bottle. Pours clear golden orange with a big bubbly white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is strong, kind of artificial, pineapple with piney hops.
The flavor is sweet pineapple with lots of resiny piney hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth carbonation.
Overall, nice IPA. I though the pineapple was prominent but kind of artificial tasting. I wish the fruit in the Grapefruit Sculpin was this noticeable. Pineapple doesn't go as well with hops as grapefruit.
