A typical liquorish doppelbock. I don't understand why it's rated so much better than the Helles. It's not as refreshing and no beer for a hot summerday. In most pubs it's just out for Starkbierzeit during March/April.

Coming from the origin region for this style, this is about the closest representation as you can get. Nothing super-fancy here, just pretty much heavy caramel malt, grain, water, and light hops. Sweet caramel and earthy flavors. Medium brown unfiltered appearance with a flatter/lower carbonation feel.

Very nice! Pours a light brown with a fluffy light tan head. Flavors of caramel, toffee, roasted nuts and warming from the alcohol. Definitely for a fall or winters day.

Absolutely stellar! Didn't realize this was a wish list beer til now. A little on the sweet side, but a prototypical liquid bread beer. Absolutely loved it in every way. This beer exceeded all expectations, and reminded me why doppelbock was once my favorite style. Probably the best I've had outside of Celebrator.

A reddish-light brown colored beer with a moderate sized fluffy textured, light tan head rising above. There's some hang time. No lacing. But then the most impressive thing in the appearance is the reddish color. Malty sweetness and dark fruit tartness are the characteristic most notable in the aromas and flavors. A thick, nearly syrupy body. Really pretty good.

A beautiful looking beer, nice dark amber and extremely clear. Very mild aroma, just some sweet malts and not much overall. Great full body and wonderful malt taste. This was so easy to drink I didn't even think it was a dopple, very well done.

Pours a dark bu clear mahogany colour with a small tan head. Aroma is so wonderful!! Nutty, syrupy and fruity all in one. ripe cherry and strawberry fruits mixed with caramel and some kind of syrup. Taste is rich of course, again notes of various sweetness and flavas of vibrant fruit. Tastey all around.

A beautiful mahogany color beneath the lightest whisp of a tan head that fizzles out fast. Strong fruity alcohol aromas. Very, very smooth and rich palate. Flavors are surprisingly soft, dominated by nutty malt sweetness. Finishes with a fine creamy complexity. MUSIC: 'Hymn' by Nick Jaina

Bountiful Doppelbock, this one is top notch. Sweet and nutty aroma with dense dark fruit notes. Rich amber red with a sizable light tan head and lots of spotty lacing. Medium body but exceptionally creamy and filling. Very smooth with a tantalizing sweetness and slow finish. Flavor ranges from sweet to nutty. Fruity, sugary malt with raisins and dry roasted nuts. Grapes, caramel, and some cedar. Complex and easy, this is outstanding.

This has to be the best doppelbock I have ever drank. I immediately noticed the deep red brown colored body that had aromas of caramel and brown butter(nut like characteristics. I noticed the flavors of caramel, toffee, roasted nuts on my palate but also had a warming effect as it hit the back of the tongue. All in all a very good beer on a cold fall and/or winter day.
