2020 Description Ashton's twist on the popular lager. We use lager malts and hops to brew this refreshing light ale. This clean and crisp brew offers subtle hints of caramel and a hue of bitter undertones. We know you'll enjoy it as much as we do! 2012 Description Traditionally cream ales were made by ale brewers trying to simulate lagers. Many of these brewers added flaked corn to the recipe to give it a smoother, creamier taste, hence the name "cream ale". Ashton cream is made with a combination of grains, these include pale malted barley, carastan malt, and wheat flakes. The beer has a light golden colour, is moderately hopped, and has a creamy mouth feel. Using saaz hops for aromatics, imparts a slightly floral nose and may cause pilsner drinkers to think they have just ordered their favourite Czechoslovakian pils. This is a great beer for people that are not convinced that they like the traditional British ales, but want a premium beer with a north American flare.

Pint at Quinn's Ale House. Poured a small size foamy eggshell white head that leaves a bit of lace. Thins layer of head stays all the way through. Aromas of floral hops and light grainy malts. Flavours are mainly citrus hops with hints of lemon and corn. Has a somewhat creamy mouthfeel but is a bit more watery, with a prickly sensation on the palate. Still pretty good for a just above average cream ale.

Sampled at Quinn's Ale House in Ottawa, Ontario. Pours a golden-amber colour with a small white cap. Big grainy aromas and kind of fruity. Hints of scents from a farm (sounds worst than it is) and sometimes, hints of fresh milk (again, the farm). Seems to change a lot. The mouthfeel is smooth. Grainy taste with a little burnt wood and a touch of wet hay and vegetables. Quite unique, and the smoke lingers in the aftertaste. A special cream ale that seems to be brewed fresh... on the farm.
