From 1920 until 1933, a nationwide constitutional ban prevented the production and sale of alcoholic beverages in the United States. Prior to this period in American history, immigrant German brewers often brewed traditional German lagers using ingredients domestically available in the United States. A generous amount of corn and six-row barley round out Retrospection, our “Pre-Prohibition” style lager. The addition of noble hops provide a subtle, crisp bitterness that balances the sweetness of the corn.
