This luscious ruby-coloured ale combines bold caramel flavours of pale and melanoidin malts and the creamy texture of oats with the bracing crispness of North American hops for an unforgettable taste experience. Brewmaster's Tasting Notes: Dinner Jacket O'Red IPA is a strong Red India Pale Ale. This ruby red beer balances a strong hop profile with a lightly roasted, big malty backbone. The addition of oatmeal lends a silky smooth balance to this decidedly hoppy beer.

Should have started with this beer. Good blend of caramel malt and hops. Although behind that flavour is a strong metallic taste that does'nt help drinkability.

Not sure the thoughts behind this beer, or if it is just another brewery tyring to get it's foot in the door. Quite red for an IPA, and the head is amost non-existent. The hops are prominent in the aroma as are notes of caramel and grass. Grass and weak citrus notes dominate the flavour. There are so many other brewers in Ontario doing a better job these days.

Pours a huge frothy beige head and has a clear amber appearance. Thick patchy lacing. Aromas of roasted, caramel and sweet malts with some light citrus hops. Flavours of citrus hops, caramel malts, somewhat acidic. Has sort of a rusty, metallic like taste in the finish, kinda off-putting. Pretty bitter overall. Slight warming sensation. Drying and tingly mouthfeel. Ok beer.

Single can from the LCBO. Pours a clean (ok, maybe a very slight hazy) darker amber colour with a big light-beige frothy-creamy head that has great retention and lots of dirty lacing. Grainy nose at first but the hops do come out with time. The taste is a nice bitterness, kind of smooth and mildly dry, but with a rusty metallic finish. The hop rolls over the caramel background, so it helps the aftertaste with the grapefruit zest. Aromas of fruity malts appear giving this one the red ale feel. Overall interesting and would be a nice hoppy session if not the metal notes. They seem to disappear eventually, so this helps.

The beer pours a translucent copper colour with a weak rocky light tan coloured head. Aroma is grapefruity hops, caramel, and some weak metallic notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is dominated by a metallic aftertaste, which comes after the grapefruity hops and caramel notes fade away.
