To put it mildly, this beer is hot-damn-skippy yummy... ;^)
Er, sorry, that was just silly. What I really want to say is that this a nicely thought-out and constructed beer, with very little to complain about.
Poured rather sedately, and at first I was thinking that this beer was a bit "D.O.A.", carbonation-wise. But oddly, once the entire contents were in my Gritty's shaker pint glass, the carbonation came alive, resulting a nice even layer of foam that lasted and lasted -- and produced more than it's fair share of lacing later on, too.
Along with the obvious hop aroma this kind of had a figgy-nutty thing going on with the aroma. Sounds peculiar, yes, but in this case at least, I thought it worked pretty well.
The mouthfeel and the flavor go hand-in-hand here, with the slightly chewy mouthfeel giving this beer's flavor profile a wide birth to do it's magic. Smooth, with a very nice "rounded" feel to the body of the beer -- with the bitterness of the hops playing off of this silkiness nicely.
Not a huge hop-bomb, as far Double IPAs go -- but a pretty appealing IPA, that's for sure. I can see wanting to get this all the time, if I could...

Poured a dark amber color with a small off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus hops, perfume, pine, and caramel malts. Taste of citrus fruits, caramel malts, nuts, and a bitter grapefruit finish.

Dark brown color, somewhat cloudy. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is grapefruity and piney, with a touch of malt sweetness. A medium bodied IPA. Malts are caramel, fruity and sweet. Hops are grapefruity and piney. Extremely smooth tasting IPA. Nice big resiny hop taste takes a while to ‘kick in’. This may be one of the best-balanced IPAs I had in a long time. Nice beer. Thanks to JCW for this one. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

bitter hops, smells yeasty, piney and kind of grapfruit or apricot-y, purty decent.

Another shout out to JaIce and Kem for all the beer brought down. This was a very nice IPA. It defines balance. The flavor consists of pine, grapefruit, and orange peel. A nice malt backbone followed by a bitter pine taste. I really enjoyed this one.

This IPA Pours with an amber-brown body with a thick head and good lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet yet slightly bitter and flowery with a slight citrus note and a touch of alcohol. The flavor is slightly sweet yet bitter wtih a slight pine note and a little citrus. Medium bodied, smooth and a touch dry.
