Aged for three months in Wild Turkey Bourbon barrels, this luxurious stout has a deep ebony hue and a beautiful mahogany head. The woody, vanilla-like notes imparted by the barrels mingle with aromas of fresh baked bread, toffee, and espresso and envelop the rich chocolate and roasted barley flavors with a fine bourbon character. Our exclusive partnership with Wild Turkey gives Anderson Valley a world class, consistent source of barrelage, allowing our brewers to explore new frontiers in barrel-aged craft beer. Since its introduction, Wild Turkey has maintained a distinctive distillation and ageing process that gives it a smooth taste and a lingering flavor. Wild Turkey uses a differentiated process whereby the bourbon is distilled at a low proof to seal in its flavors. Very little water is added to Wild Turkey, resulting in a full-flavored authentic bourbon taste similar to what one would get straight out of the barrel. Wild Turkey is a genuine drink with a sought after “burn” that comes from its high proof, an attribute fundamental to the brand and critical in maintaining its authentic bourbon characteristics. Strong, smoky aroma has a robust overtone of bourbon, plus subtle notes of chocolate, licorice, toffee and caramel. Pours a deep, rich coffee sable with a rather thick and persistent light tan head. Satisfying flavor has a roast malt core and a strong bourbon note, plus nutty, caramel, chocolate, earthy and licorice notes of varying strength. It seems to get better with each sip! Smooth texture has hearty body, though fizz seems on the weak side. So what - this is a great beer, one I hope they will brew again!

Pours out extremely dark brown close to black with a tan head that just vanishes. The aroma is lacking in smell. The mouthfeel is is smooth and just above average. The taste is lacking in distinct flavors. No real hint of bourbon, spice or pumpkin. A good average beer but not worth $10. Note I may have reviewed to quickly. As it warmed up the aroma increased. Now the spices and bourbon are present.and the flavor increased dramatically. Now the Bourbon is present and so are the spices and sweetness.

This is better than an average beer but not by much. It is way below average when compared to other barrel aged stouts. What ever that means. Wishy washy nose, flavour and mouthfeel. Won't be buying again. This is also probably a below average review.

The appearance is brownish black with a beige head. The aroma contains mostly chocolate burbon. The flavor is a bit boozy with some chocolate, vanilla, and coffee. The turkey isnt overwhelming in this one. Overall a good beer.

A decidedly average beer that lacks the support of a great stout and the weak barrel aging does nothing to make this a better product. The aroma starts out with light vanilla notes, light chocolate, treacle with a twinge of acidic/vomit smell lurking about. The barrel/whiskey affect on this beer is extremely mild. Some may love that, but I'd rather have a hefty base beer that can stand up to the BA process. Flavor is of black walnuts with light chocolate and vanilla notes and super soft whiskey nuances. Really, really soft. Very average. Anderson Valley seems to excel at making okay beers. -

A beautiful looking beer, and nice enough, but the look was all that lived up to expectaitons. Wild Turkey is not a good enough, or deep enough, bourbon for this beer. I expected the thiness in the body since this is not an imperial, and didn't mind that as much as the fact that so much of the stout character was covered by bourbon, and a so so one at that. Still was very smooth if thin, light chocolate and lots of booze in the aroma and flavor. A pleasant drink, but lacking depth - not to mention i can get a sixer of the (better) Barney Flats Stout for less than a bomber of this. Enjoyed, but with faults, and a one timer likely for $10. 2nd time a gift...better with a few months on it. More stout, less turkey. Up a tenth.

Pours an opaque black with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, cookie dough, wood, and a mild bourbon aroma. Taste is much the same with a slight tartness to it. There is a mild roasty bitterness with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer, its all about the whiskey. Give it a try, especially if you like Wild Turkey.

Started the day with this one at World of Beer. Blackness in color with a big bright foamy textured, tan head. There's some hang time and a moderate ringlet is left behind. Whiskey and wood dominate a strong nose and stronger taste. It buries the roasty malt. But it is a strong warming beer for a chilly day. A little lighter in body than I'd like but, good nonetheless.
