deep gold almost orange balanced nosed and a label that has Sant and a Monk hauling ass in a horse drawn sleigh over the river and to the town-the back has the spring the brauwasser comes from running slow and covered in snow. Damn nice bier.

This is what I have to assume to be the brewery's Christmas/Winter Beer, since one of the few things I read on the German label is "Festbier". Ties in with the picturesqe scene of a church being snowed upon at sunset (or sunrise).

Anyway, label semantics aside, this is a pretty tasty beer. I'm putting down the style to be something more like a Bock, only in that it seems to emphasize the malt over the hops, and has a rather languid mouthfeel. But with a good presentation, tasty flavor profile, and good overall drinkability, I rather enjoyed this one. Probably not something I would revisit, but surely something to check out for something different.

clear golden colour (the germans are probably the only who are brewing a pale lager for Christmas ...), little foam, chalky an flowery nose, sweet and oily with a good malt body, moderate malty finish - modest

Nice bier to drink in the darkening of the light. Not stark at 5.6 %, but a brew that can be drak in volume with food and great good cheer. Rich balanced flavor, excellent with pig meat. Very nice at any price and here it is a bargain, a great every day drinkin beir that will only be here for a short time. Turns out this issue was a local legend. Cheap GREAT brew. Well why so great. It gave you mega belch potential, tasted great, more filling, get up the next day with a powerful thirst. And, it was a bargain.
