A decent domestic Belgian ale. Pours a moderately dark color, not excessive head of silky texture, inviting toasty malt malt that gives this Belgian a hint of porter. Enjoy.

Purchased on a trip to Maine. Pours a dark brown-amber colour with a warm cap. Rich taste of caramel malts, vanilla and mild grass. Fruity malt nose with hints of nuts. Even coconuts flavours. Pretty good overall.

Comes out of the tap an opaque light chocolaty brown with a fairly thick, pale tan head. Rich, smoky, malty aroma has a yeasty undertone, and invites a taste. Flavor is malty with hints of cinnamon, cloves, yeast and caramel - very toothsome. Texture is very smooth and leaves behind a nice tingle.

The aroma is slightly sweet and earthy with hints of spice and some figs and creamy-like and very aromatic. The appearance is a dark brown and earthy and hard to see through when held to the light with a big, off-white head that sticks to the glass evenly. The mouthfeel is full-bodied and very complex and extremely well-balanced and very good. The flavor is very tasty and very creamy with hints of spice and figs with a wet finish that coats the pallet very nicely. Overall, not as good as the 10 but still excellent and very refreshing and very enjoyable to sip on anytime.

Pours hazed brown with a few bubbles as a head. Aroma has fruity berry notes, a light spiciness, and a touch of sweet malt. Nice sweet malty taste complimented by estery raisin flavor and cloves. Finishes nice and dry.

I think I was expecting more from this beer then what was actually delivered. It poured a medium brown colour with a medium sized tan head. Rich in multiple flavors, carmel, cherries, a hint of orange and soft peppery taste. THe aroma was somewhat weak but i picked up oak.

A very nice abbey beer, which was too be expected from Allagash. Aroma was very malty and strong. Appearance was light brown with a cloudy texture. Mouthfeel was super smooth. Flavor was distinct and strong. A great abbey brew.

Decent dubbel. Classic color, dark red-brown with a hint of orange tint. Fruity aroma, although surprisingly hoppy. I was disappointed however by the lack of head on this beer.

I've been sitting on to this beer for over 2 years (not on purpose), and it has held up pretty well. I got it as part of a variety case, so I've had a bunch of these a couple years ago and it tastes just as I remember it. Very little head. Dark red-brown in color. Aroma is a little yeasty, very sweet and malty. Has a simple character. Medium body. Straightforward flavor. Not really any alcohol noticable. It bit of spice and dryness in the finish. This Double is just OK.

Poured a brown with red tint to it, almost no head, Smell of Alcohol and caramel. Could taste the caramel and yeasts and a alcohol bite to it. Thin mouthfeel. Not what i expected.
