(750 ml corked bottle, champagne style. Bought in Denmark.). A Christmas beer in August, why not? Amber colour, large fizzy head that doesn’t last very long. Pleasant and complex aroma of oak, caramel, dried fruits and spices. I find the flavour less complex, maybe because of the beer’s fizzyness. Still it is reasonably malty and easily drinkable, fairly sweet. Aftertaste is OK but not impressive.

750ml bottle -
A somewhat pedestrian beer that's peculiar in the sense that, I don't know what kind of style it is. The style here says it's a dubbel but there's no way it's a dubbel. Sorry. The aroma is very sweet smelling, an abundance of caramel malts with a touch of roast. The Belgian yeast is also fairly present, which helps things. Flavor has some honey-like malts, caramel, dried orange peel...fruity...definitely. A nice Belgian ale, no matter what the style is. -

A bright amber colored beer witha big frothy white head rising above. Some hang time. It settles into a thick ringlet and clouds of film. Earthy, fruity, caramel. Light medium creamy textured. Not bad

Sampled on 1/29/2010. This Belgian Strong Ale pours a medium orange amber color from a corked and caged 750ml bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel, cider, herbal and sweet. A medium bodied Belgian Strong Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet, touch of bread and caramel. Touch of apple cider, bread and honey. Hops are earthy. Nice balance. Good carbonation. I had a lot of French Xmas beer this past season, that sort of taste like this one, ciderish, sweet, earthy and spicy. Nice sipping beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Bottled (thanks omhper!) Amber colour with mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is caramel, citrusfruits, some bitterish hops as well as spices. Flavour is fudge, some grassy hops as well as mild fruityness. Spices comes in the finish and aftertaste, along with strong fudge/caramel notes.

Copper amberish colour topped with a dense white foam. Quite harmonious and well-intergrated aroma of mild pepper, dried oranges, anise, rose-petals, over-riped apples and yeast. Darker flavourwise of caramel, fudge, nuts, mild licorice, canned mandarine, brown sugar, almond and yeast. Smooth is a bit light mouthfeel. Ends yeasty with notes of fudge, nuts and mild anise. Pretty nice one!
