Peu de styles nous parlent autant à ce temps-ci de l’année que tout ce qui est IPA de la côte ouest américaine. Chaque décembre, on voit le retour de Double Douglas, notre West Coast IPA impériale à 8% aux houblons Amarillo et Simcoe. Notes de la brasserie : Les fruits à noyaux et de la résine de houblon se démarquent au nez. Le corps de la bière est initialement assez rond. Au goût, des parfums d'abricots et de pêches apparaissent initialement, accompagnés par des notes plus florales, résineuses et une petite douceur de caramel apportée par le malt de spécialité. La bière finit sèche, légèrement alcoolisée, avec un côté fruité persistant et une amertume franche.

Lightly hazed, golden colour with a frothy white head, good retention and some foamy lacing spots left. The aromas are well-blended, milder, with the piney notes over caramel malts, hints of citrus and residual sugar. The taste shows hoppiness, grassiness like the West Coast style it is, but not a hop bomb. Being an Imperial IPA, again well-blended pine, caramel and decent building dryness in the finish. Citrus zest lingers, and a tad tartiness. Such an easy-drinking, Double West Coast IPA.
