Our first anniversary release is a Belgian style strong ale that is amber in color, with a light to medium body. Subtle malt sweetness is balanced with noticeable hop flavor, light raisin and mildly spicy, cake like flavors, and finishes with local wildflower honey aromas. Made with 80% organic malted barley, Belgian specialty grains, Forbidden fruit yeasts, domestic hops and Good Flow local wildflower honey, this beer is deceptively high in alcohol.

Sampled at GABF on 9/16/2010. This Belgian Strong Ale pours a light gold color from the tap. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, slight touch of alcohol. A medium bodied Belgian Strong Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet, most peaches and apricot. Bright yeasts. A little alcohol hot, but not too bad. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet, with a hint of alcohol.

I tried this one today at Opal Devines in south Austin today, based on thier other products i figured this should be a good beer as well. Aroma of candi sugar and some toasted malts. It was a mid to deep amber body with a thin off white cap. Flavor was a little bit of a let down because it started out with some malts, and spiceiness, but mid way through the flavor disappeared. It was worth trying though, the alcohol is well hidden, and quite potent.
