Our Farmhouse Ale which was aged 5 months in a Terra d’Oro Amador Zinfandel barrel. This Saison is a light Belgian Ale with subtle fruit notes and a slightly tart, dry finish. A perfect style to receive the color, fruit, oak and wine character, given by 5 months in the Amador barrel. This is an exciting example of how beer and wine can achieve beautiful harmony together.

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8
Pours a barely translucent dark golden amber with a thick, fine-bubbled, pale golden buff head. Malty aroma has a strong overtone of wine and oak, obviously from the wine barrels. Flavor has a firm overtone of wine-soaked wood, which actually complements the malt and other fruitiness quite well. It’s almost like drinking wine. Smooth texture has plenty of fizz, though body is so-so. I think this is a one-and-done deal, which is too bad as it’s a winner.
