Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9
Pours warm sable that lets in a peep of garnet light at the bottom. Tan head is thin, but that must be from the pour. Rich, toasty aroma has notes of caramel, horehound, clove, and toffee. Flavor trots roast malt, nutty, caramel, spice, and horehound notes across the tongue. Texture is a little thin, but the is a porter, not as heavy as a stout. Fizz is good and rather persistent. Oh I’ve never been to England, but I do watch Dr. Who.
