5 Lizard is a creamy and refreshing wheat beer, lightly spicy, with the tangy fruitiness of passionfruit for a fun and lively personality. We start with a classic Belgian witbier brewed with malt, wheat and oats, changing it up with carefully chosen coriander and fresh lime peel instead of the traditional bitter orange. Passionfruit purée is added to the fermenters for a delicious and slightly exotic flavor. It is low in alcohol, super-refreshing and sophisticated all at the same time. Winner of the Gold Medal, Fruit Wheat Beer, 2011 Great American Beer Festival In Aztec mythology, 5 Lizard (Macuilcuetzpalin) is one of the 5 Gods of Excess (Ahuiateteo) and symbolizes overindulgence and gluttony. 5 Lizard is also considered the deity of dance and sexual desire.

pours a bit light on carbonation with a small head that fizzes out very quickly. The beer is standard hazy bright yellow. The aroma is of a mild coriander spice and some fruity yeasts but it has a bit of sour fruit funk which is interesting. The taste is actually quite good the sour note isn't fierce as expected like a squirt of fresh lemon. The spices are a bit timid and the actual yeast is fruity and inviting. The mouth feel is light to medium bodied easy to drink

A cloudy bright yellow colored beer with a small, two fingered, sudsy textured, white head rising above. There's some hang time on the head. A moderate ringlet is what's eventually left behind. The total profile is passion fruit. Lighter in the nose, but in the tasting mixed well with the presence of wheat. Light, crisp and effervescent. Well done.
