Let’s face it… Nobody wants to ride the pines. Everyone wants to be a starter. And the best of the best want to stay in the game until it’s over. Our ‘The Starter’ Session IPA is just the kind of beer a coach could rely on, day in, day out, to get the job done. With a crisp and citrusy profile, our Galaxy hop driven IPA screams high draft pick beer stud, while its low 4.8 % ABV gives it the stamina to go the whole session, no matter how formidable the competition. So stay in the game while the other guys sit panting on the bench. It’s a character thing! Aroma: Fresh Citrus and fruit up front. Some light caramel. Flavour: Slight bitterness, fruity hops, and sweetness. Full bodied despite its abv. Designed to be all the flavour of an IPA but without the high abv content. An everyday beer you can drink all night. Malts: 2-row base malt. Abbey Malt, Crystal Malt, Flaked Wheat. Hops: Bittering = Columbus Aroma and dry hop = cascade and Galaxy

The beer pours a hazed caramel colour with a generous off-white foamy head which lasts a couple of minutes. There is significant lacing for a beer that is 7 months from canning. The aroma is cereal grains, citrusy hops, some pine notes as well. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is sticky caramel, pine, and citrus with a bitter hop finish. Another decent from one of the breweries closest to me.

Picked up a tallboy at Foodland in Winchester. Weird. Pours a big and thick frothy, bubbly beige head, good retention. Has a slightly hazy amber appearance. Huge thick dirty lacing. Aromas of light malts, bready, some earthy and resin hop notes. Flavours are a little disappointing,  a little bland with a bit of the earthy and floral hops coming through as well as some bready malts. Not much else, seems watered down as well. Wet mouthfeel and finishes with a rusty metallic like aftertaste.

Pours a clean amber colour with a big frothy warm-beige cap, very long lasting with thick foamy-creamy lacing. Aromas of fruity-citrus hops with some cereal grains, hints from the farm and light caramel. The taste is also citrusy with some nice dryness in the finish. Good bitterness lingers. Quite a nice Session IPA that is well-crafted. Reminds me of the notes of an Imperial IPA, but with only a 4.8% ABV. Gets hazy near the last pour. What a beautiful head.
