Twenty years ago, Highland opened its doors in a town otherwise bereft of breweries. Ournname anchors us here – “Highland” honors Asheville’s Scots Irish heritage. In a final salute to our 20th anniversary, we present the 20th beer in the series: our limited edition, 20thAnniversary Weizenbock. Pause to take in the aromas of clove and banana. Wheat, barley, and chocolate rye create complex malt flavors, accented by a hint of spiciness. "Just a wee bit different," our rendition of this lesser-known style is approachable and beautifully suited to the season.

Pours translucent golden with a nice buff head. Fruity, malty aroma is not strong but still tempting. Flavor is fruity, banana plus pear plus hints of Apple and cherry, all riding on a nice manly foundation. Texture is fairly firm and quite lively. Happy 20th, Highland - may you celebrate many, many more!
