This was the last place finisher in a recent APA tasting held by the BJCP friend recently. At 44 IBUs, it's a bit light for an American Pale Ale and this showed in both the flavour and the body. Not a beer I would try again.

This beer finished 5th at a recent APA tasting held by a friend who's an BJPC member. A nice amber pour with a white cap, and a very piney aroma backed by citrus were the positive points for me. The thin body and thin flavour were negatives....although not all my friends felt it was as this as I did.

The 4th place finisher in a recent APA testing held by a friend who's an BJCP member. This beer had enough of it all.........a nice copper colour with a good white cap, a hoppy aroma with a decent malt backbone, decent body, and well-balanced flavour with a solid bitter finish. My second favourite of the night.

This was the 3rd place finisher in a recent APA testing held by a friend who is a BJCP member. This was my favourite beer of the night, although the version I had was 7% and from a growler. The flavour was amazing, nicely balanced between the citrusy hops and the malt. A beautiful amber pour, and good body. A great beer.

The recent 2nd place finisher in an APA tasting I attended at a friend's house who's a BJCP member. I was not a fan of this beer. Great colour, great body, but the aroma and flavour were all over the place, not a pleasant mix. A hoppier aroma and flavour would have been nice! Bottle was only 3 weeks old so age should not have been an issue.

This was the winner in a recent APA tasting held by a friend who's a BJCP member. It was middle of the road for me. It had a little bit of everything....good colour, decent citrusy aroma, decent body, and nice flavour.........but nothing that to me stood out and said 'wow'!

This beer was an excellent surprise, being Canadian I wasn't expecting much. Pours out chocolate milk brown with a small brown cap. Lots of roasted maltiness in the aroma, quite simple actually. It tastes great, very smooth, very drinkable, starts off sweet with weak fruit and chocolate and ends with a bitter finish.

A nice Impy stout. A midnight black pour with a thick brown head that lingers all teh way down the glass. Lots of roasted malt in the aroma with planty of hints of coffee, molasses, and plums. Starts off sweet with the fruit and molasses hints but gives way to a bitter coffee finish. While it was good, it wasn't oustanding. Doesn't taste any different than a lot of other Imperial stouts.

A weak watery Irish Ale. It pours a dark red color, almost no head, not quite clear. Old stale malt is all I can smell, some weak floral smells round out the aroma. It tastes very weak....watered down malt, and a finish that isn't so much bitter as it is a releif. Definitely something to avoid.

This stuff was gross. The aroma of corn and other adjuncts was extremely evident as soon as the can was open. It looked just like Coors Light, but the off-putting aroma and watery mouthfeel made me gag. Overly sweet, and little other flavour to hold interest. All hype....no substance. I had problems giving the other 5 away...my husband didn't want it nor did half the winos outside the hotel!

Yum! This was beautiful to stare at just sitting in the glass. Cloudy, golden nectar topped by a 2-3" white rocky head. Yeast, pepper, grass, and citrus waft gently through the air. A crisp tasting beer with generous hints of citrus, yeast, and malted grains.

Just an average stout with nothing to really make it stand out. A bit on the expensive side if truth be told. Motor oil black with a tan head and a lot of coffee in the taste and smell. A bit plain.

Great label - wish the beer lived up to the label though. A beautiful looking stout from the DFH clan. Black as night. Nice coffee and chocolate aroma with a little vanilla. Tastes sweet and bitter, but could be better.

Wow! Great beer. Very dark. Lots of roasted this and that in the aroma. Lots of coffee and chocolate in the flavour. I can definitely see where the awards come from when I drink this.

This is a good beer, but a boring beer. A copper colored ale. Hops and fruit are in the aroma and some malt. Crisp on the palate. The flavor is a clean crisp pale ale with no off tastes whatsoever.

This is quitre possibly the grainiest Oktoberfest I've ever had. A beautiful shimmering gold color with a huge white head. But after that is was just grainy malt, and maybe a little much on the sweet side as well.

I was not impressed with this Oktoberfest. Looks good, but the flavor and aroma were both on the weak end and very malty. I was really looking forward to this beer as it had only one sub-par review, but now it has two. I'm just not digging it.

A friend recently visited Germany (she's German so Germany is the world's greatest beer country to her) and brought me back about 50 German beers to try...this is the first. A 500ml swingtop bottle (never felt that swingtops were 'clean') that pours out a slightly cloudy gold beer. Plenty of bready aromas and a touch of hops. It tastes smooth and refreshing, yet slightly watered down. The malt imparts a sweet flavor, almost honey-like, but could be stronger.

They tell me that this is the granddaddy of the Oktoberfests. Simply pleasing is the best way to describe this beer. It's quite refreshing and 'light' for a 5.9% beer. Golden-red in colour with a light brown head. Caramel malt, floral hops, and grain come through the nose. Like some other German beers, I find the flavour to be slightly watery (Too many Imperial Stouts/IPAs maybe), although well balamced between the malty sweetness and hoppish bitterness.

A very nice and refreshing Oktoberfest. A beautiful reddish gold hue that reflects well in the candle next to it. Caramel malt dominates the aroma and sweet malty tones dominate the flavour. Doesn't seem all that complex - just a very good beer.

Different. Tried during dinner recently and didn't feel that it complemented my meal. It poured a very clear gold colour with a white head. A mixyure of hops, spice, and grass made up the aroma. The taste was a little on the spicy side with some malt mixed in. Not really worth trying again.

I can't believe I'm the first to try this. One of my co-workers found out that my bf and I like trying different beers so she brought me about 100 from a cross country trip that her husband surprised her with. The Wit is a cloudy orange gold with a white head. Citrusy tones dominate the aroma with some wheat and clove present. Refreshing and clean tasting, plenty of citrus and spice.

Big bottle, big alcohol, make for a heavy beer. A solid orange gold beer with a thin white head and a piney aroma with some citrus and bread malts. The taste was uberhoppy, with a little of the alcohol being noticeable. I liked it, but not for an everyday beer.

A spring draught beer sampled at the brewery, and a great sampling it was. Certainly the hoppiest beer I have ever had. Lots and lots of hoppish goodness. It comes through in the nose and comes through in the flavor. Citrusy!
