750 ml clear bottle, batch #20220121, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 7.01%. Crystal clear and very pale straw colour, pours sparkling with a shortlived white head. Nice aroma of Rubinstep apples, hints of sulphites. Semi-dry flavour, notes of apples, again a hint of sulphites.

500 ml can, from Joker Vatlandsvåg. ABV is 4.7%. Golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma and flavour of RedBull, which is a drink I only consume when I am desperate. As a beer, this is terrible. Not totally undrinkable, though.

Dec. 2015: Cask pint at the Leyton Orient Supporters Club. Very dark ruby color, nearly black. Small beige head. Moderate malty aroma. Very nice malty / slightly roasty and fruity flavour, hints of mild coffee, chocolate and blackcurrants. A pleasant mild.

Dec. 2015: Cask pint at the Leyton Orient Supporters Club. Chestnut color, minimal off-white head. Malty aroma, blackcurrant leaves and some earthy hops. Malty flavour, hints of caramel, warm fruity notes (blackcurrants), earthy hops in the finish. Good beer.

Nov. 2012: Shared 500 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård. ABV is 4.2%. Pale golden colour, low white head. Very moderate aroma, some sweetish and grainy, hints of hay. At least it is not offensive. Light bodied as expected. Clean pilsener flavour, too little of everything, but again: not offensive. Might work well in the Kenyan heat, not on a late autumn day in Norway.

750 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 8.4%. Pale golden colour, still cider (no carbonation). Aroma and flavour of cider apples, oak and dry white wine. Distinct tannins and bitterness in the finish.

440 ml can, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 5.8%, IBU 30. Very dark brown to black colour, large to moderate tan head. Aroma of roast malts and chocolate, hints of mild coffee. Smooth flavour, roast malts, chocolate and mild coffee again, also a hint of caramel, but not too sweet. Moderate bittering hops in the finish. Well balanced and easy drinking.

330 ml can, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 6%. Hazy yellow colour, moderate white head. Aroma of lemon, lime and tropical fruits. Citric mouthfeel and flavour, not too sweet, light bodied, refreshing, low bitterness.

330 ml can, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 5.2%. Gusher can. Slightly hazy yellow colour, moderate white head. Floral and herbal aroma, some fruity notes too. Fairly sweet, floral and fruity flavour, with a sharpish bitterness in the aftertaste.

330 ml can, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 5.8%, IBU 28. Murky brownish-orange colour, moderate white head. Aroma of citrus, pineapple and other tropical fruits, hints of Earl Grey and Orange Pekoe teas. The flavour is moderately sweet, with the same elements as the aroma, and a fairly distinct hop bitterness throughout.

March 2016: 330 ml can, from Vinmonopolet Verksgata, Stavanger. ABV is 5.8%. Cloudy orange colour, large white head. Strong aroma of various fir trees, citrus fruits and tropical fruits. Fizzy mouthfeel. Very hoppy and medium dry flavour, pine needles and resin galore, also grapefruit, very bitter finish.

April 2020: 330 ml can, from Vinmonopolet (Kvadrat or Nettbutikken). ABV is 7.5%. Orange to copper colour, slightly hazy. Moderate white head. Aroma of mint, citrus and chili. Peppery flavour, again with chili, mint and citrus, not too sweet. Moderate but fairly distinct bittering hops.

Oct. 2015: 650 ml bottle, from the Norwegian importer. ABV is 8%. Cloudy deep golden to brownish colour, moderate to low white head. Strong hoppy aroma, notes of pine, spruce and tropical fruits. Distinctly hoppy flavour too, medium dry, notes of pine and grapefruit, hints of crushed white grapes and tropical fruits. Bitter aftertaste. Very good. Would certainly buy again.

May 2014: 650 ml bottle, from the Norwegian importer. ABV is 7.5%. Ingredients include lemongrass, coriander, kaffir lime, lemon and grapefruit peel. Hazy golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of lemongrass, coriander and citrus fruits / citrus peel. Spicy and citrussy flavour, with distinct notes of said ingredients. Hoppy and spicy finish. Refreshing and enjoyable. Would buy again.

Oct. 2014: Shared 750 ml corked and caged bottle at local tasting, from the museum shop at Koldinghus castle. Deep amber colour, white head. Nice aroma of honey, sweet malts and mild spices. Sweet flavour, loads of honey, malts and spices. This is, after all, a beer with mead added - not a mead with beer added.

330 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, possibly Stavanger Madla. ABV is 5.4%. Deep golden colour, slightly hazy. Moderate white head. Moderate malty aroma. Soft mouthfeel. Fairly pleasant flavour, malty but not too sweet, some fruity notes, moderate herbal hops in the finish.

330 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, probably Stavanger Verksgt. Also available at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 14.6%. Very deep brown to black colour (what's this modern idea that barleywines should be black?). No head, minimal carbonation. Aroma of malts, molasses, caramel and treacle, hints of soy sauce, fusel and oak. Flat and boozy mouthfeel. Way too sweet and alcoholic flavour, notes of oak and fusel. Not to my liking at all, won't buy again.
