750 ml bottle, collab with Great Divide. ABV is 6.6%. At Cardinal, Stavanger. Hazy golden colour, moderate white head. Pleasant aroma of grapefruit, white wine, oak, brettanomyces, white wine vinegar and spicy saison yeast. Sour flavour, with the same elements as the aroma, also noticeable bittering hops.

330 ml can, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Opaque and murky pale yellow colour, large white head. Pleasant aroma of various citrus fruits and tropical fruits, also hints of sprucetips. The flavour is not too sweet, but has the same elements as the aroma, ending in a rather sharp and dry bitterness.

750 ml bottle, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 5.8%. Nearly clear golden colour, large to moderate white head. Aroma of spicy saison yeast, also notes of spicy hops. Moderately acidic flavour, notes of lemons, spicy yeast and moderate spicy hops. Too yeasty and acidic for me.

April 2017: 650 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 13%. Brownish deep golden colour, thin white head. Strong aroma of fruity hops, orange marmalade and caramel, hints of alcohol. Strong and concentrated flavour, aggressive bittering hops, overwhelming sweetness, again orange marmalade and caramel, loads of alcohol. Not my cup of tea.

June 2016: 355 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.5%. Golden colour, moderate white head. Surprisingly moderate aroma of grain and dust, only a hint of hops. The dry flavour is fairly well hopped, and the malty base is sufficient. Medium bitter finish.

Feb 2018: 355 ml can, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7%. Murky yellowish colour, moderate white head. Aroma of lemons and raspberries, hints of spruce. Citric and sour flavour, lemons galore, hints of raspberries, distinct resinous bittering hops in the finish. Not my cup of tea.

Jan. 2020: Shared 440 ml can. Black colour, minimal brown head. Aroma of roast malts, lactose, molasses, vanilla and coffee - kind of sickly sweetish. Very sweet flavour, with the same elements as the aroma. Alcoholic. Too sweet.

July 2012: On tap as Lervig Take It Easy, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 2.7%. Deep golden colour, large white head. Strong aroma of citrussy and catty hops, also notes of pine and crushed gooseberries. Light bodied as expected. The dry flavour is dominated by piney and grapefruity hops throughout. Bitter finish. Maybe not very "well balanced", but tasty and refreshing, and definitely more flavourful than most beers of this strength.

Dec. 2013: Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting. Cloudy brown colour, huge off-white head. Sweetish aroma of old jam, malts, herbal hops and oak. The flavour is medium sweet and vinous, notes of raisins and oak.

Dec. 2013: 500 ml bottle, Cardinal’s great Yule beer tasting. ABV is 10.9%. Pitch black colour, moderate to low brown head. Strong aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, vanilla, mild coffee and sour cherries. The flavour has a distinct sourish fruity acidity from the cherries, also smooth chocolate. Some bitterness and wood in the finish. Maybe not well balanced, but interesting and fun to drink.

March 2015: 355 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 10.3%. Hazy brown colour, large to moderate off-white head. Aroma of oak, malts and raisins / other dark dried fruits. The flavour is sweet, malty and oaky, with dark dried fruits galore, immediately followed by distinct hops, ending in a solid and rather sharp bitterness that stays with you through the long aftertaste. Hints of anise and liquorice too. A very tasty American barleywine.

Soft carbonation, soft mouthfeel for its strength. Sweet flavour, with notes of roast malts, marshmallows, chocolate, vanilla, roasted nuts, spices and coffee. Moderate bittering hops. Flavour bomb!

April 2018: 650 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 10.5%. Pitch black colour, moderate brown head. Intense aroma of roast malts, coffee, cinnamon, almonds, cocoa, vanilla and chili. Rich mouthfeel. Medium sweet flavour with the same elements as the aroma (they are all actual ingredients), moderate hops. The habanero chilies leave a very subtle burn in the finish. Impressive beer.

473 ml can, as Evil Twin / Prairie Even More Bible Belt, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 13%. Pitch black colour, large to moderate tan head. Aroma of chocolate / cocoa, roast malts, mild coffee, vanilla, only a hint of chili. Rich mouthfeel. The moderately sweet flavour has the same elements as the aroma, but the chilies are more pronounced now, with a hint of smoke (smoked chilies? - or a little smoked malts?). A slight chili burn in the aftertaste, moderate bittering hops.

Citric mouthfeel. The flavour has notes of blood oranges and apricots again, hints of lemons, some slightly metallic notes too.

June 2016: 330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet. BB date 05.03.2015. ABV is 9.5%. Black colour, large beige head. Aroma of roast malts and liquorice. Roasty flavour too, plenty of liquorice, salty and hoppy finish. Nice enough, but not as complex as I hoped for.

Pleasant aroma of chocolate, cocoa and mild coffee, hints of vanilla. The flavour is fresh and slightly fruity, fairly dry, again with notes of chocolate / cocoa, hints of vanilla and a whiff of smoke, moderate hops in the finish.
