Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 8

Another outstanding trappist ale. Colour - medium red brown, clear edges, medium sized tab cap. Aroma - dark malt, sugar, bread, plums. Mouthfeel - Medium bodied. Flavour - sweet dark fruit, yeast, sugar, malt. Not as complex as the 10, but the same flavours. Overall - Excellent!

2 Chimay Première (Red) Belgium Abbey Dubbel 4.2

Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

An almost outstanding trappist ale. Colour - medium red brown, murky body, clear edges, huge foamy tan cap. Aroma - dark malt, sugar, yeast, plums. Mouthfeel - Full bodied. Flavour - sweet dark fruit, yeast, sugar, malt but with a bittering dry finish. Overall - almost outstanding - would be better if the finish wasn't so dry and bitter!

Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10

A beautiful beer, near perfection. Colour - dark red brown, murky, red edges, generous foamy brown cap. Aroma - dark malt, candy sugar, yeast, plums, and raisins. Mouthfeel - Full bodied. Flavour - A sweet elixer of yeast, spices, fruit, and malt. Overall - outstanding! If it wasn't $10-$12/bottle - this would be my new favourite!

5 Dieu du Ciel Rigor Mortis ABT Canada Abbey Quadrupel 4.3

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9

Bottle/ Colour - Dark reddish brown, somewhat murky, foamy light brown cap. Aroma - roasted malt, figs, yeast, and spices. Mouthfeel - Medium bodied, good carbonation. Flavour - Well balanced between the grains and the hops with lots of fig and cherry notes. yeast is present in the flavour but subdued.

6 La Trappe Quadrupel / Koningshoeven Quadrupel Netherlands Abbey Quadrupel 4.7

Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 9

Big bottle. Colour - murky reddish brown, light seeps in at the edges, head is brown, creamy, and laces well. Aroma - Belgian yeast, chocolate, roasted malt, dark fruits, candy sugar, and caramel. A lot going on. Mouthfeel - medium bodied, good carbonation. Flavour - bitter chocolate, dark fruit, a little spice. alcohol well hidden.

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6

Not the greatest of collaborations. Colour - gold, murky, whitish head. Aroma - yeasty, grainy, some floral hops. Mouthfeel - medium bodied. Flavour - Grainy and yeasty with some bitterness . Overall - an alright beer

Bottle. Colour - golden amber, hazed, thin tan head. Aroma - yeast, pepper, citrus, malt. Mouthfeel - medium bodied. Flavour - yeast, spices, citrus, grains, some saison sense going on. Overall - As stated in my lupulus review, Charlevoix makes some amazing beers and this is no exception. i wouldn't be surprised if I found out that Lupulus is excessively hopped triple

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7

Bottle. Colour – hazy gold, huge white head, good lacing, good effervescence. Aroma – yeast, light citrus, grains, brown sugar. Mouthfeel – medium bodied, highly carbonated, almost champagne-like. Flavour – grains, citrus, yeast, not as good as the other Chimays I’ve tried.

10 Unibroue La Fin du Monde Canada Abbey Tripel 3.6

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6

Bottle. Colour – light amber, slight haze, generous foamy white cap, good lacing. Aroma – spices, yeast, grains, and alcohol. Mouthfeel – Medium to Full Bodied, well carbonated. Flavour – citrus fruit, spices, yeast, and alcohol. The alcohol is not well hidden in this beer and that makes the score suffer.

11 Unibroue Don De Dieu Canada Abbey Tripel 3.8

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

Bottle. Colour – slightly hazed golden orange, small off-white head, good lacing. Aroma – citrus fruit, light peach notes, spices, yeast, grains. Quite fruity for a BSA. Mouthfeel – Medium bodied, good carbonation. Flavour – sweet fruit notes up front, followed by yeast and a bitter spice finish. Tasted better than it sounds.

Bottle. Colour - Dark brown, no head, no effervescence, no lacing. Aroma - rye bread, yeast, caramel. Palate - average bodied. Flavour - brown bread, yeast, possibly molasses. A well kept secret in North Toronto that should have been kept secret.

Bottle. Colour - clear rust colour, highly effervescent, thin creamy white head, no lacing. Aroma - cereal grains, caramel, earthy hops, light citrus. Mouthfeel - medium bodied, well carbonated. Flavour - sweet caramel malt and biscuits up front, and a nice spicy hop finish in the end. Not a lot of bitterness as is how it should be with an altbier.

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

Can. Colour - a cloudy amber pour with a 2" foamy off-white cap. Minimal lacing. Aroma - roasted malt. light caramel, spicy hops. Mouthfeel - well carbonated and medium bodied. Flavour - sweet notes of caramel and biscuity malt and a mild bitter hop finish. I liked it.

Bottle. Colour - clear amber pour, generous off-white cap that lasts, good lacing. Aroma - nutty malt, toasted caramel, herbal hop notes. Mouthfeel - medium bodied, well carbonated. Flavour - very well balanced with the sweet caramel up front goving way to the roasted and nutty malt tones before finishing with a spicy and earthy hop finish. Quite good.

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

Bottle. Colour – clear, golden-amber, head is white and fluffy. Aroma – biscuit malt, molasses, maple, earthy hops. Mouthfeel - Average. Flavour – Nicely balanced between the sweetness of the maple and caramel and the bitterness of the hops. Only available in big bottles and is very rich.

17 Outlaw Bronco Canada Amber Ale 2.8

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5

Can. Colour – clear amber, weak white ring for a cap, no lacing. Only 3 weeks old. Aroma – cereal grains, light caramel, yeast, and musty hops. Mouthfeel – medium bodied, medium carbnonation. Flavour – a nice balance between some slight citrusy notes and the caramel. Finish isn’t all that bitter. Not a beer I liked very much.

Can / Draught. Colour – clear brown, light tan head, frothy but not long lasting. Aroma – nutty malt, light caramel, and some roast. Mouthfeel – light to medium bodied, good carbonation. Flavour – caramel and nutty malt flavours, finish is mild.

19 Brick Amber Dry Canada Amber Ale 3.9

Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

Bottle. The first real non-mac ro I tried. Colour - a clear reddish gold colour, thin white head, lasts. Aroma - cereal grains, herbal hops, weak caramel notes and weak spices. Mouthfeel - medium bodied, well carbonated. Flavour - Light cereal and caramel notes finishing with a bitter herbal hop note. Good for what it was at the time.

Bottle. Colour - transparent rust colour, good effervescence, off-white creamy head, good lacing. Aroma - light toasted caramel notes, some roasted malt, and a weak earthy hop presence. Mouthfeel - medium bodied, slight over carbonation. Flavour - not well balanced as the malty caramel sweetness dominates any hop presence that might be there.

22 Amsterdam Big Wheel Deluxe Amber Beer Canada Amber Ale 2.5

Another Amsterdam draught, about as bad as the Dutch Amber Lager. In fact, if I didn't know any better (and honestly I don't) I would say it's the same beer different label. Colour - clear rusty red colour, thin tan cap. Aroma - metallic grains, some weak hops. Mouthfeel - medium. Flavour - very acidic and metallic in nature, almost gross. Overall - below average.

This is the beer that for most Canadians was their gateway away from clear gold beers (those who didn't drink Guinness anyway). Colour - clear golden-copper, tan head. Aroma - metallic and acidic grans and a hint of caramel. Mouthfeel - thin to medium. Flavour - acidic grains with a bitter finish. Overall - decent.

I've tried this on several ocassions and I have yet to finish it. Colour - clear amber, medium tan head. Aroma - metallic grains. Mouthfeel - thin. Flavour - acidic and metallic tones. Overall - awful.

Instead of my friends going away and bringing me back a lousy T-shirt, they bring me back lousy beer. Colour - Pale gold, bubbly white cap, excess effervescence. Aroma - weak malt, weak hops, skunk. Mouthfeel - medium bodied (although the bottle says 'full'. Flavour - metallic grains. Overall - Not worth the effort to track down
