This beer is popping up everywhere, and it's nothing special. Pale gold in colour, small white head, and even it goes away quickly. The aroma is very piney, some citrus and floral notes and malt. The flavour is what it is....grassy malt up front, and a hoppy ending.

I had a hard time getting this, and now that I have it, I feel like I've wasted my money. A decent Imperial Stout, but not a great one. Not a lot of complexity in the aroma or flavour, and certainly nothing that makes it stand out from the crowd. Very black with a creamy brown head. Typical stout aroma with roasted malt, coffee, and vanilla. The flavour is more of the same. No wow factor here. I think Thomassova hit it on the head when he said 'overrated'. At best...average aside from colour!

This is an excellent beer, I've always passed over it for some reason or another. Cloudy dark brown in colour, ruby hints at the edges and a thin white ring. The aroma knocked me out....plums, apples, pears, sugar, and sweet malt. The flavour was more of the same. No hint of alcohol (or hops). Heavenly!

This is the beer of Gods. It looks like a beer, and tastes great. A hazy golden ale with a huge white cap that has the texture of the rocky mountains. Belgian yeast is the prevalent odour along with some fruit and peppery spices. The flavour is both unique and complex. Citrusy hints balance out the yeastiness and it all ends with a bittering finish.

I've been told that this is the best beer in Canada and I believe it. It pours black with brown hints, and a thick dark brown head that lingers. The nose is greeted with a roasted malt, coffee, chicory, some licorice, and cocoa. The tongue is greeted with a complex concoction of coffee, chocolate, molasses, and licorice and finished off with whack of bitterness.

THis deep mahogany pour is one awesome beer. A thin tight tan head tops it off....wisps of sweet wheat malt, banana and compliment one another as it tingles on the senses. A slightly sweet flavour greets the tongue with hints of light fruit followed by a bitter finish. Very little alcohol evidence for 12%

The Schneider Weisse original has always been a favourite of mine and recently I've had the chance to try the dopple and eisbocks. Neither was a letdown. The beer is brown, hazy, and smells of wheat and maple syrup. The flavour is sweet wehat malt, some spices, and light fruit.

Recently a few friends and I did a taste test on several Chocolate Stouts, and this was the winner by far. A great beer with some great colour, great aromas of coffee and chocolate, and a huge whallop of flavour to back it up. A perfect level of bitterness.

This was a very bitter beer in a recent chocolate stout taste test a few friends and I had. While the colour was comparable to some of the others, both the aroma and flavour were weaker on the chocolate side than the Youngs

This was delicious and decadent, but not overpowering. It's a very black pour with huge choclate aroma. The aroma is mimicked by the taste. The cherry flavour was minimal.
