The beer poured a jet black, with a generous, creamy light brown head. The aroma was roasted malt, coffee, and dark chocolate. The mouthfeel was full-bodied, creamy, and mildly carbonated. The flavour was roasted malt, coffee, and a very noticeable hop bitterness. -

The beer pours a translucent red-hued golden colour with a 1 inch bubbly white head which quickly dissipates to a film on top. The aromas are earthy hops, stale grains, and weak citrus notes. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is grainy malt, and a bitter hoppy finish that clings to the tongue. Not bad, but no complexity whatsoever.. -

The beer pours a translucent light copper colour with a generous foamy light tan head which doesn’t last very long. The aroma is grains, light caramel, herbal hops, and some weak yeast notes. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is light toasted caramel, some leather notes, and a nice bitter hoppy finish. I enjoyed this immensely, I hope Steam Whistle doesn’t ruin it. -

The beer pours a solid coca-cola colour with a half inch creamy tan coloured head which sadly, did not last more than a few seconds. The aroma is roasted malt, coffee, and notes of vanilla. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is roasted malt, coffee, and not much else. Quite one dimensional for a stout, and weak tasting. -

The beer pours a translucent dark cherry red with a thin brown tan cap which starts off bubbly but quickly recedes to a film on top. The aroma is toasted caramel malt, earthy hops, weak bread, and a hint of yeast. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Sadly, the flavour falls short. While only 7.5%, the alcohol flavour dominates the taste. There are hints of caramel and bitter hop notes, but the alcohol steals the show. -

The date code on the can is the totally obvious 8253. The beer pours a beautiful translucent dark cherry red with a creamy half inch tan coloured cap that lingers a while. The aroma is light toffee and molasses with hints of grains and musty hops. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with average carbonation. On the thin side for a Scotch ale. The flavour is like the mouthfeel in that it is weak on flavour. Not a lot of sweetness coming from the molasses/toffee notes, and not a lot of bitterness from hop notes. The alcohol is well hidden though, that’s a plus. Look and smells great, but the flavour was a letdown for me. -

Part of the 2008 Ontario Craft Beer Discovery Pack. The beer poured a translucent red-tinged golden colour with a generous white head that quickly dissipated. The aroma was slightly malty, a little tinge of hops, and a lot of mustiness as stated previously. The beer is thin to medium bodied with ample carbonation. The flavour has a slight sweetness to it, a little bit of caramel malt, and a little hoppish character in the end. -

The beer poured a dark translucent reddish-brown with a 1" head which disappeared quickly. The first aromatic flavour that hit me was molasses. There was also some sweet malt and cherry hints. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied with ample carbonation. The flavour was malty/grainy with some unplaceable sourness. An alright beer. -

The beer pours a translucent light gold colour with a generous bubbly head which doesn’t last very long, but leaves a little lacing. The aroma is very grainy, with hints of earthy hops The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is the same as the aroma, very grainy, minimal hops. -

The beer poured a translucent medium gold with a generous white head. The aroma was all lemon, and fake lemon at that. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was very lemony with some grainy malt mixed in. This would be quite refreshing if the taste was better.
