Spring Training WS Favorites

Non-Beer Discussion by CHANGEUP45

Who do you think are the favorites to win the World Series right now? A few teams made some drastic moves... Did the Mets do enough to get them into contention? As a Red Sox fan, feeling much more confident these days (for obvious reasons) I like our chances.

Here's my two cents: NOT the Phillies.

Well, I was a Braves fan when they were losing 100 a year, so I'm going to stick with them now. They've done a couple of things over the winter to improve as well. Well, at least they'll win their division before collapsing in the playoffs (probably, 1st round.)

In Reply To #14 "Well, at least they'll win their division before collapsing in the playoffs (probably, 1st round.)" Yep. That's a given :) Top part of their rotation, providing they remain healthy should be good. Looks like Andruw Jones is still taking the steroids, so that's a good thing for you. I heard he got some advice from Willy Mays, *cough* "batting stance" advice. Barry must have given his stuff to Willy, to give to Andruw. But it's only the cream...

In Reply To #15 Andruw Jones? On the juice? Sorry, I've gotta laugh in your face. This is a pudgy mid-20's guy who's always been muscular and never realized his potential. If there's a juicer on the Braves, it'd be the other Jones, Chipper variety. If Andruw was on the 'roids, he'd be hitting a helluva lot more round trippers.

I will keep my fingers crossed for the sox, but we just got our asses handed to us by the Wankees Renteria looked like an asshole. I know he is a great player and all, he just didn't look like one the other night. Nor did Wells. It is a long season though and the new additions will hit their stride along with the new ones

In Reply To #16 You know in order to hit homeruns you still have to make contact. Anduruws always been a free swinger. Besides, I wouldn't always translate steroids into "hitting a helluva lot more round trippers." Just ask Alex Sanchez and Jeremy Giambi (just two that come to mind quickly)

In Reply To #17 I hear ya Dippy. I'm just ready for today's game to start so we can forget the last one and move on. Hopefully a better outcome today.

In Reply To #18 I don't completely disagree with this point, but then why did they take 'em in the first place? Flat out cheating and performance enhancing. No, it wouldn't turn me into a 500 home run hitter, but there's no denying it helps people that can already hit the ball.... hit it farther.

Well it looks like it's time for Mariano Rivera to hang em up! LOL :) Ok... it's nice out and I'm just happy we got a win! And happy Renteria didn't make any errors and got two hits. Gotta admit I wasn't too pleased after TWO more doubleplays... but he redeemed himself.
