I don't see how that is a mismatch at all. That bill sounds sexy as hell!
For once, I actually agree with you on something, Travis!....[:0].....Yeah.....I would be in my funk'n Rock'n glory with a bill like that.....both acts appeal to very wide range of audience.....would have been an awesome show indeed.......

Volapolooza 2010 Flogging Molly opened (actually second act) for Passion Pit I took my daughter and we only went to see Flogging Molly. They were most outstanding. Didn't stay for Passion Pit as they are not my cup of tea. Unusual mix of concert goers attended. Volapolooza 2010

Wow.... I saw Vic Henley, an aspiring comedian (at the time) open for Molly Hatchet at a bar in Daleville, Alabama (outside of Ft. Rucker) back in 1989-90 or so.

I saw Hendrix in Madison in 1970, along with "OZ". What do I remember about the OZ set? What did I know about them before the concert? What did I hear about them afterward? Not a damn thing.

Closest thing I had to a mismatch bill was Buck Cherry opening for Sammy Hagar. Talk about a generation gap.

The oddest one I saw in person was Lollapalooza 1996 in KC - Main Stage had Rancid, Ramones, Soundgarden and Metallica. It was funny when Ramones came out as it was about 100 degrees and they still had their leather jackets on. Soundgarden opened with Waiting for the Sun - it was epic. I also went to another random concert in 1997, also in KC - it had Bloodhound Gang, Limp Bizkit, K's Choice, Goldfinger and The Urge.
I was at this one too. The mismatch was the Cocteau Twins performing for Metallica fans and the lead singer getting hit in the face with a muddy tennis ball and calling it a set. Just an odd scene.
