General Beer Discussion by GIVMEBEER

After night shift I love a beer. Regardless of circumstance, what beer would you choose for breakfast.

Any Oatmeal Stout works for me (usually Samuel Smith).

When I worked third shift, a nice citrusy IPA always seemed to hit the spot in the morning before bed. Especially during a shower. Breakfast beer? I like a malty lager...Marzen or Ofest.

It's 8am EST right now... would be nice to have a nice chilled witbier, or anything with coffee in it (Mill Street Coffee Porter).

Used to be (might still be) a bar in Cincinnati called Sudsy Malone's, combination bar and laundromat, that catered to the 3rd shift medical workers on "Pill Hill" Guinness on tap at 6am, what's not to like?

http://hbd.org/recipator/ Used to use this until I got on board with BeerSmith.....that was back during extract and partial mash days, but it seemed pretty effective/accurate.

Same here. Except I tried pro mash a few times before converting to beersmith.

It seems Beer Smith is a favorite (n=2). Lower marks for hopville > beertoad (n=1), pro mash (n=1), and the recipator (n=2). Anyone else have thoughts or comments? CHALLENGE: To find an online site with recipes, batch-size conversion calculations, instructions, a logbook for notes (hydrometer readings, variations tried, etc.), ability to archive past results, and a discussion forum.
