Brewery Discussion by GGRUMET
Over the past few years I have had numerous of the Eclipse variants. While they are nice beers, I feel that the price point is borderline ridiculous. Last night I split the 2012 Evan Williams, for which I paid 29.99 for in Philadelphia. It was a nice beer, but not worth $1+ per ounce. A bottle of the actual bourbon that was previously aged in the barrels is cheaper. What is the price of these in truckee? Outside of bourbon county rare a few years ago, I don't know of many other barrel aged stouts with such a high price point.

Apparently this brewery makes a boat load of different "Eclipse" Imperial Stouts every year. I had a 2018 at home for a while that I could no longer resist. I was confused to find a whole bunch of beers in the database named "FiftyFity [year] Imperial Eclipse Stout." I don't understand how the "Eclipse" got placed between "Imperial Stout" because it certainly isn't that way on my bottle and their website doesn't have it that way either. They probably all need to be edited. It's also an accident waiting to happen because the 2018 releases alone have 14 different versions. Their website has the decoder ring, which basically tells you what it is based on the color of the cap wax. Yeah, I don't feel like adding them all.
