Time to ruffle some feathers

General Beer Discussion by AIRFORCE1

I had the pleasure of drain pouring a 2009 Bourbon County Stout last night. What a turd that was.

I'm a big fan of BCS. I haven't had any of the most recent vintage but I'm hearing a lot of negative reviews about it.

Don't sweat it, there's very few lambics that I can tolerate, but a lot of folks hete love 'em.

Nobody "stroked out" glad I am. [:D] Agree it's overrated, I do, like it still I do also. LOTS of barreled stouts better like I do. Sorry, Yoda on the brain.

I had read the review and saw it dropped outta the top 5. See, individuals really make a difference.

I love it, but also haven't had in a few years. That said, I don't take it personal or get concerned when someone else doesn't like it. It's your beer to do with as you please, [:)] I have never understood people getting worked up over what people do with their own beer. Self annointed beer moral authorities are annoying.

This thread reminds me of 2 things: 1) Damn, I could'a swore I had some BCS in the cellar... if I do, it's in the (non-existent) sub-cellar... got a couple years of Schlafly, a couple years of Black Ops... did I really drink all that BCS? 2) Why I'm on BeerPal... it really is a barroom, where I'm acquainted with most of the asses on the barstools ([:D]) and can talk comfortably about Beer, and Life, the Universe, and Everything.... with a couple thousand taps! Life is Good!

Nothing wrong with being honest. I was surprised to read how potent the bourbon still was in your review. I've had very good luck cellaring regular imperial stouts, finding they typically "peak" between the fresh to 2 year mark, some up to a few years. With barrel aged stouts, I've found the majority are best fresh. I've had many loose most of the barrel influence after a year and they seem to thin out considerably. A 3 year old BCS with overpowering bourbon as your review indicated surprised me.

You moron! You idiot! You human douche-nozzle! Your dorkified muck-raking hickey-covered drain-pouring beer-wasting global-warming-causing non-citizen-president-supporting tax-and-spender! ACK! I cough in your general direction! And the next time you deign to dump, have the common decency to pour your unwanted beer into my empty cup! Air Force! Oh, the humanity....

Its difficult to drainpour a 23 cent can of cheap pale lager. Would not drain pour this stuff, I don't think.
