Way to go, Cards! [:p][:)][:D][8D][^]
Agreed. I was cheering for them, despite their beating the Phils. The Phils deserved to lose, and I remain more mad at the Phils than at the Cards. So, good for them. It was honestly one of the best World Series matches I've seen, probably top 5 - for entertainment value (too many errors and too little pitching to be the best played WS, imo). I can think of Kirk Gibson, Sox/Mets, and DBacks/Yanks as three others of comparable excitement. The only dumb part about WS's these days is that the outcome is influenced by the outcome of a stinking All Star game. This one was no exception. There's no way the Cards pull that off on the road. No way.
Homefield was definitely an advantage. And I agree, stupid that the All Star game determines it. However, to say no way the Cards would have won is ignoring the fact that they beat the predictions over and over. Sure they had some breaks, but the Braves were supposed to get the wild card. There was no way they would beat the Phils. Everyone seemed to be rooting for the infantile Beast Mode. And in this series few seemed to give the Cards a shot. They were supposed to lose over and over and it didn't happen. Give them a a little credit, it wasn't just dumb luck, but it helped! [:D]

I agree with you in many respects. I was an avid supporter and fan for the Cards. Their story was compelling. It really is fascinating. It's a perfect case of being really good at the right time and having things bounce your way, and there were tons of the latter. I guess the home field thing is one of the things that happened along the way. So, good for them, and that's part of a run. It's not every year that the pure best team flat out wins without any help from luck or good bounces. My point was more focused on the fact that they were down three times in game 6. They were down to their last STRIKE twice, yet overcame that. Sure, none of us know what would have happened if they were on the road in that situation. However, I can't imagine that they pull that out in game 6 in Texas. And, in the end. It doesn't matter. They won. I certainly wasn't trying to detract from that fact. I was more interested in bashing the silly silly silly way by which MLB determines home field advantage. STOOPID. And it was ONE more thing that bounced the Cards way.

Everyone seemed to be rooting for the infantile Beast Mode. Reallly????....[;)]....Not everyone, dude......One thing is for sure...it's going to be one of the most interesting off-season in a long time, especailly to see where Al Pujols goes......Now that Sam Giancanna has offically hung it up (which in my honest opinion, will only last two years and he'll turn up somewhere, maybe even back w/STL depending) I think old Albert is pretty much out of St. Lou.....And of course the Fats Fielder watch is on too.....Good stuff....This and HERE WE GO STILLERS, and it will be big fun....[:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]......

I hope the Pirates sign Fielder just for you. Won't happen but wouldn't that be ironic.

Dateline: December 29, 2011 Pittsburgh Pirates sign Prince Fielder to a 20-year contract worth 100 bajizillion dollars and all the Primanti Bros. sandwiches he can eat. Ben Rothlisberger promises to "hook him up" with some women too. In other news, man jumps off the Allegheny Bridge in an attempted suicide, shouting "NOT FATS FIELDER!!! NOOOOOOOOO" No one understood why this man jumped, but one nearby fisherman wearing a Phillies cap saved this jumper thinking that he was jumping because he was a Phillies fan and was sure Fielder was going to sign with them. He realized the error he made when paramedics said he was wearing Black and Gold underwear and had a "I 'heart' John Candelaria" tattoo on his calf.

The heck with that. Just type praises to your front office and stop calling them all those bad and negative words here on out. Stilla's vs. Ravens SNF.... Can't wait, although the Ravens have struggled of late and the yellow and black ought to be hungry for revenge at home!

Quite a win. Quite a final drive by Flacco, epecially with two critical drops thrown in there by his wrs, one of which was a TD. Don't have any idea what your defensive coordinator was doing, but it happened to a great team! Woo hoo!

Other than a couple of fantasy players, I really didn't have a dog in that fight. However, that was a fun game to watch, back and forth.
