High Grav heating up in TN!

Industry News by BLUESANDBARBQ

Sierra Nevada wants to move to east Tennessee. Bravo! er....wait a minute... They want the high grav business almost all to themselves? Hmmmmmm. And then there is City Brewing. Who is behind all of this crap? Very suspect, very interesting: Sierra Nevada Brewing has selected a site in the Volunteer State as a potential location in its search for a new facility.

Yah, this caused a big storm on RB. I almost responded on here this morning in defense of SN, but am glad I passed, as this link hit a good part of what I was going to state. I was additionally concerned at the reaction, because these lawmakers may have no choice but to do a "temporary" period to get the abv lifted at all. The passage may be blocked with a permanent bill, who knows. Ah well....

See my new topic about the bill... Passed, in committee, with NO restrictions to how many brewers may produce high abv beers + they added amendments to allow tasting and growler sells for said beers. Win Win for Tennessee... moving forward finally. All because Big Green wants to be here. Whatever it takes. It's a Good day. Hope the bill doesn't die. Doubt it will. Local news ran a segment about Sierra Nevada announcing that Alcoa, TN is on the short list for places they would like to build east brewery. Good day indeed.

Sierra Nevada has been phenomenal for California (not to mention the rest of the beer drinking world), so I sincerely hope that Tennessee gets the nod. That'd be so freakin awesome for Matt and Lou and the other Southern BP's in the area.
