Retailer/Brew Pub Reviews

General Beer Discussion by CROWN

Is there any way these could show up on the recently reviewed list? I think this is a really cool part of your site, but it gets no pub at all. The beer compass is money.

Plus it seems confusing having beer and and place reviews meshed on one page. Maybe a seperate page that lists recent place reviews could be warranted?

I know when I'm heading out of town I do the following things: check Beerpal for bars, retail establishments and reviews. Maybe it's just my inablilty to navigate the site, but I always screw up a time or two prior to finding what I'm looking for. Then I pack my bags and head out.

OK.... who deleted my message? C'mon, really. I thought it was a good suggestion and was also awaiting a response. 7 days passed and I made a comment. Hell, at least it got you people to acknowledge it.

Gotta agree with PK...it's good to know that I can find a good beer when I'm going out of town. Now we just need to get people to add to the existing database....it's very incomplete.

Just a thought, but you could make a Beer Compass Forum.

In Reply To #7 Yeah, the Beer Compass Forum is a pretty good idea. For example, I have come to the forum to get advice from BeerPals about where to find quality imbibables before traveling, and there are some very knowledgeable and helpful people in here. But the problem is that I may not have time for a new conversation to unfold in the forum while I'm packing my bags. I want to open a thread of reviews about all the options in an area, and I might be in a hurry. So that's where the forum would be slower than a searchable database of reviews. I use the Beer Compass and I have contributed to it. But I also use Pub Crawler. I think they have a good example for us to follow. Can we make the Beer Compass as complete and accurate as Pub Crawler?

In Reply To #9 Then stop deleting posts for no reason. It would be easy to move along if your finger wasn't glued to the delete button. You guys really are ridiculous with that, borderline comical. This is a public forum and your power is displayed too often. I didn't even say anything bad? I just mentioned that you guys hadn't responded in 7 days... and I was curious. Oh.... because I made a joke about being black listed? LOL

In Reply To #10 That was the first post i deleted in several months. I deleted it because it had nothing to do with the topic. I haven't been replying to most things on the forum in the past 2 months because I'm living in a hotel. I can't read everyhthing, sorry.

The beer compass is going to be a lot different once I get around to it on the new site. All beers, breweries and retailers are going to have a link that takes you to a thread just for that item. That means there will be a Beer Compass forum where you'll also be able to talk about general beer compass stuff. This way if you want to comment on someone's review you can simply click on the forum link on that page for that item. Threads won't be created until someone writes the first message for that item. That way there won't be 12,000 empty threads in the Beer Forum. I can also make it so that the beer's page can say how many, if any, comments have been left in its thread. Some people have written reviews just to make a comment, which is annoying. This would fix that.
