well Said... I am die hard baseball fan and Bud Selig is a joke... I want Rays to win but Damn the phillies can pitch.....
quote: Originally posted by Cottrell It was obvious by looking at weather reports that it was going to rain heavily for hours. Why the hell they allowed the game to be played is beyond me. Dumb dumb dumb. Imagine being a fan who paid thousands for a ticket to sit in cold and rain for hours. I find it hilarious that the umps let TB tie it up before calling it. If TB comes back to win the series, all the Philthy fans will be yelling "FIX!".

A rain delay? this has to be a first(in ws history that is). Can you imagine the stain on MLB if they had called that game because of rain and the phils won the WS on an act of nature?

I'd have understood why they had done it under normal rule situations, as that woulda been a cheap way to end a Series (and that coming from a fan desperate for a championship). But, after Selig tells us all that he talked with both GMs and coaches and that they all knew that the Series would NEVER end like that, that the delay (with the Rays down) would just be stayed over a longer period of time (vs. the "suspension" we're in now because of the tie), I have no idea why they pushed on as long as they did giving TB the chance to tie it up or take the lead. The last two innings should not have been played. Rollins nearly coulda seriously hurt himself diving for that "routine" pop up. Additionally, not calling the infield fly rule because weather conditions didn't warrant a "routine" catch further points to the irresponsibility of allowing that game to continue on as long as it did. The game would NOT have ended then, per Selig's comments and pre-game agreement. Why they played in the first place? Moronic, although I at least understand the pressures to play and the difficult dilemma there. Only good news will be if they still include a travel day to TB, so that Hamels could pitch again in Game 7 IF needed. They basically stole our ace from us by partially playing a game. And prior to last night's postponement until today, Hamels was never going to play again.

Umpiring has been horrible on the field and at the plate, but I have no idea how you see either team getting an advantage. They're blowing 'em all over the place both ways.

I dunno what you're complaining about EF, The Phillies are getting quite obviously getting the liberal strike zone that The Rays aren't.

This is the man who turned me onto the absolute glory of the Ibanez Tube Screamer (that's an effects pedal for the non-guitarists in the room). I used to listen to his records and think "Great Zeus almighty! How does he get that tone?!?" Hooray for Google, or else I never would have figured it out. One of my favorites of his: "Boot Hill" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_rjm1-fT0I
